Jai rose the next morning with dry eyes and greasy hair. He didn't want to even think about what happened last night, he just wanted to ignore it entirely. Lucky for him, he didn't really remember anything from the afterparty. It all felt like a huge blur, really.

With a deep sigh, the mutt made his way to the bathroom. Splashing the cold water against his burning eyes felt like heaven. He always adored the feeling of cold water against his fur, and often would run cold baths or walk down to the beach just to be in water. Turning off the faucet, he saw himself in the mirror. "Holy shit," he mumbled to himself. He looked worse than he thought, like he'd just been out bar hopping all night. Jai rubbed his eyes and tried to forget the person in his reflection as he made his way out of the bathroom and down the hall. He was dreading having to face his siblings after the night he had before, but to his surprise, the house was empty. No signs of Cody or Spits in sight.

"Guys? Hello??" Jai called out.

No answer.

As he made his way to the kitchen he noticed a note on the counter.

"Off to work and running errands. Be back later, love you :)

-Spits & Cody"

"Oh. Since when does Spits have a job???"

He placed the note back down and looked out the window. Clear skies. The California palm trees standing still with no wind to dance to. The mutt grabbed an apple from the fridge and made his way back to his bedroom. He didn't have any plans for the day, and he was home alone, so he figured he could pass the time by getting high. Jai wasn't one to take drugs around family, so he often did it when he had time to himself. His mother had always taught her kids to be pretty anti-drug, but as he grew older, Jai partook in various substances at parties and with friends, such as weed, shrooms, molly, and acid. He knew to keep his usage to a minimum, as his mom would constantly tell the kids of the negative effects of drug use. Jai usually kept a stash of small amounts of those drugs in his sock drawer, but when he went to check, it was empty.

"Shit. Must've used the last of them," he said. He checked the time on his phone, which read 3:29 PM. "Well," he said, "I got nothing keeping me here right now. I guess I could go out....hmm.. I wonder if King's busy." Opening his contacts he texted his friend Kingsley, the white and red imp he met at a club one night. King is usually always out partying or tripping with friends, and Jai considers him one of his best friends. Within two minutes, he gets a text back.

"HEYYYY BITCHHH!!! im w some mfs in 253, u kno the club by that nail place???? U should TOTALY come down omfg imysm"

'Kinda early to be clubbing already,' Jai thought. Then again, if he knew one thing about King, it's that he doesn't follow any sort of time schedule. Whatever he wanted to do in the moment, he did. Jai says he's on his way, and starts to get ready. After taking a quick shower, he puts on a cropped black hoodie with white sleeves and some black sweatpants held up by a black and gold belt. Jai usually only wears black and white clothes, hardly ever wearing coloured clothing. He thinks it's "unflattering to his fur." He checks himself in the mirror a couple times before grabbing his essentials and leaving. He flinched for a second as the sunlight hit his eyes. 'I swear that shit gets brighter every day,' he thought to himself.

Jai and his friends frequented 253, since it was relatively close to his house and they had the best jello shots there. As he walked, he reminisced about the first few times he went to this club. Coincidentally, it was the same club where he met Kingsley for the first time. He smiled to himself as he approached the club, knowing that there was never a dull moment with King. He took a breath before he opened the doors, ran his fingers through his hair, and entered the building.
