Am I a Fool?

You felt....creepy watching him like this. It's not like you were doing anything wrong. Really all you were doing was watching the team practice. Well, more like watching one person. 

It's been months since you started your second year and with the start of November nothing has changed. You were still just 'Wonder Boy's little sister' to Satori. 

A side character at most. 

Yet even through the lack of importance you held in his life that one question still itched inside your mind.

"Could he love me?"

You were delusional. But who isn't when they're in love? You've spoken maybe three sentences to him all year and you were head over heels. 

A fool in love. 

But god did it feel good to be a fool. It made every little thing so much more meaningful. A moment of accidental eye contact was exhilarating. A small greeting meant the world to you. The times when you'd catch him staring at you during practice, or when he'd brush his hand against yours when he walked by was electrifying. 

But in reality he only greeted you to be polite. He brushed his hand against yours because the hall was crowded. That moment of eye contact was because he could feel you staring at him. And when he was looking at you during practice, he was really looking at the girl behind you.

Or maybe he liked you too.

It's surprising how different the world is when you're in love. It's even more surprising how much you read into all the little things. How the simplest of things have much deeper meanings to us when really they're exactly what they seem to be. 

Of course, you'd only realize this when once it's too late. But it would never be too late for you because he was in love with you. All of the little simplest of things did have deeper meanings and he liked you too.

Satori Tendō was in love with you
