My leg crashes with something on the floor and I pick it up. A wooden bat?

Thinking It'll come in handy I take it with me. I hear the door shut again so I make my way up and sluggishly open the door.

The creaking sound of the door opening somehow is muffled by the thunder rumble. Lucky, I think as I peek and watch two cops standing at the door.

I quickly revert as soon as I feel a cop looking my way. he wouldn't have seen me because of the dark surrounding but I couldn't be sure.

With slow and steady steps I make my way into the kitchen after the cops leave. Cops have already checked this house which means that they are not coming back or be suspicious about it. Wouldn't you call that a Jackpot?

I take a knife from the knife holder and shove it into the back of my jeans.

I watch him go back to his room after he closes the basement door. I left the door open to not make any sound and that made me think I'll soon be busted. But I didn't expect him to act so thoughtlessly.

I stand in front of his room entrance watching him smoke. It would be foolish of me to attack him right now as there is a long distance between us and that would only give him time to prepare. And I'm not going to hand him this opportunity just like that. So I backslide towards the kitchen as I wait for the perfect opportunity.

End of flashback

Enough I guess, need to get to work.

I get up and make my way towards his legs. I pick one of his legs dragging him towards his room.

The room was a bit bright than the rest of the house and it's a bit spacious. The floor is a dark black hardwood paneling that fades into creme walls. The room is a bit dark due to the weather but the color of the wall is clearly visible. It has a bookcase that adorned the quiet room. The furniture had a simplicity and a flare all at once as if inspired by the simple gown that is confident in taking up its space.

The blood on the floor left trace behind it mixed with the spilled alcohol. What a mess. I smudge the track with my shoes. The blood track reminds me of some past disturbing memories.
