sort of a filler, I suppose

Laying stretched out on the couch, Perrie lifted her head long enough to see who was coming into the living room from the kitchen. Seeing that it was just Isaac, she laid her head down and turned her attention back to the latest episode of Modern Family. Settled in the arm chair a few feet away from the couch, Isaac held out a bag of bar-be-que chips, offering them to Perrie. Happily laying with a handful of chips, Perrie gave Isaac a small smile and muttered a thanks.
Attention on the television, they sat engrossed in the show. Every so often one of them would laugh at something a character would say or do. After the few days they had, it was nice watching another family, even a fictional one, go through a few ups and downs of life.
"How was your day?" Isaac finally asked as a commercial came across the screen.
"It was a day." Perrie shrugged, tightening her pony tail. "Did you see Taylor today?" she asked, shooting a glance at Isaac.
Perrie was awfully persistent that Isaac talk to Taylor, her excuse was that Isaac had made her a promise and it would only be wrong to go back on it.
"I wasn't at the office today." Isaac replied handing Perrie the bag of chips again.
"You know where he lives." Perrie sighed taking the chips and pulling out another handful.
"Perrie, I know that you want me to forgive Taylor but I'm really not sure that it's something I can do. Not right away." Isaac replied.
"He made a mistake, people make those." Perrie countered with a slight huff. "Do you really think Taylor meant to hurt you?"
Realistically Perrie knew that it would be impossible for Isaac to forgive Taylor so quickly. Even if it had been something that had happened years ago, the news was fresh. If Perrie were to guess, she would say that Isaac was probably more upset that Taylor had kept a secret this big, than he was about the actual events.
Scratching the back of his head, Isaac sighed. "Perrie, it doesn't matter whether he did it to hurt me or not. What bothers me is that he, my brother, still did it and then found it best to keep it from me."
"It's not all on Taylor." Perrie pointed out. "My mom is just as much to blame."
"I don't want to sound hurtful, but I am pretty sure your mom never twisted Taylor's arm. It's a hard thing to swallow, but my brother is just as much to blame." Isaac stated his opinion.
He knew better than to think Taylor was the only one to blame. Amy had as much to do with it as Taylor had, but Amy wasn't there and unfortunately Isaac's anger was being directed at Taylor. Perrie was old enough to understand the difference between right and wrong, in some situations. Isaac trusted that at her age, she knew that this situation was wrong and it didn't matter who had asked who. What mattered is that once asked, both parties had gone ahead, behind Isaac's back.
"I know you've told me, before, you never hated my mom for lying to you." Perrie cleared her throat. "Do you hate her for this?"
"Perrie, if your mom were here right now," Isaac began, "I would tell her that I was hurt by what she's done to me. I would tell her that being truthful certainly isn't her strong point, but I would never tell her or imply that I hate her. The truth is, I don't hate her. Love is blind, clearly I was blinder than I ever imagined."
Perrie groaned and laid her arms across her face. "She really knew how to fuck things up."
"Language." the parent in Isaac took over automatically. Although Perrie was quite a bit older than her half-siblings, there were some things Isaac wasn't letting her away with entirely.
