I have been working away at this, took a bit but here it is.

"Tanner is going to be here a little after one." Nikki informed Isaac as she shoved a few snacks in a bag for the boys.

"Shame, I won't get to meet him" Isaac didn't bother to look up from tinkering with a broken watch. "Tell him I say hi."

"Where are you going?" Nikki stopped what she was doing and placed her hand on her hip.

"I have errands." Isaac shrugged. Conveniently he had found a whole pile of things to do while his daughter had a teenage boy in their house. If Isaac stayed home then he would only manage to interfere and that would only cause tension with Perrie.

"Okay, can you do them after he leaves? I have doctors appointments, a dentist appointment for Monroe, and someone has to grocery shop for this family." Nikki gritted her teeth. Did Isaac ever listen to her? When they had talked about Tanner coming over she had been very clear that Isaac had to stay home.

"No, I can't." Isaac replied, the watch he had been holding dropped to the table top with a clunk. "I thought you were doing that stuff tomorrow, I worked it out so I can do everything this afternoon."

"Well, you better figure something out Mister." Nikki stated. Returning to her tasks, she waited for Isaac to figure out this mess. "If you listened better, you would have known this. Now what?"

"She'll have to call and tell him that he can't come over." Isaac spoke in a mater of fact manner.

"It is clear you have never been a fifteen year old girl." Nikki sighed heavily.

Ending this before it began would only upset Perrie. As level headed as she was, things between her and Isaac were still slightly shaky, her father telling her to cancel plans with a boy would most likely be seen as Isaac disapproving. He disapproved alright, but that was here nor there.

"What else can I do? You aren't going to be home and neither am I." Isaac's voice was gruff.

"Maybe we can call Avery to come over?" Nikki made a suggestion. Avery was a responsible adult and Perrie wouldn't mind having her around.

"She is out of town this week." Isaac replied feeling frustrated. How did they let this happen? Why was nothing ever simple with teenagers?

"Okay, what about Zoe?"

"No." Isaac immediately dismissed the idea. Mentally he ran through a list of suitable family members, coming up empty handed seeing as it was the middle of the week and they were all busy, he grunted. "Could she go to his house?"

"Not unless you want them alone there, his parents both work." Nikki informed her husband. "His mother is driving him over on her lunch break, but other than that they are busy."

"So, what are the options?"

"You can do errands with two teenagers, or..." Nikki paused, raising her brow.

"Absolutely not!" Isaac bellowed. "No. No way! No." he ranted on.

Over his dead body were they leaving Perrie alone with some boy she hardly knew.

"Ike." Nikki's tone went soft. Isaac scowled this had bad news wrote all over it. "Before you go building a wire fence around the house and installing a cannon, can we at least talk about this hypothetically?"

"Nope." Isaac was firm in his decision. Nothing was going to sway that.

"Honey, you know that Perrie is a very reasonable girl. You know that you can trust her too." Nikki began softly.
