On a whim, I decided to copy/paste my cover blurb into a search engine. Lo and behold, first result, a shady, predatory website has stolen my hard work (and hundreds of other creators' works from all sorts of publishing sites) and is uploading it with the same penname, title, the cover I spent so long on (which of course is now on Google Images with no acknowledgement of the original creator), blurb, and chapters.

Everything has been stolen. EXCEPT they're uploading it under their own (fake) name. Disgusting.

I refuse to participate in this, even as just another victim. Writing is all I have in this horrible world, and now they've taken even that from me.

It is not a true mirror website, so even if I deleted this book, it would remain on the other site "forever." There is a petition to take down the site that I and thousands of others have already signed. It doesn't feel like enough.

It's been fun. Maybe you'll see my books on shelves someday.
