Friends Sacrifice- Short Prologue

Jacinta POV

I shook as I heard the men upstairs, I felt nothing but guilt & regret as the blood of the man who helped me dripped into the hidden room, but for his sake I didn't cry, knowing if I did he's death & sacrifice would be in vain. I waited until I heard the sound of several footsteps walk out, get into some vehicle, and drive off. After waiting several more minutes to be sure they would be gone, I tried getting out but something heavy blocked the door way, by the blood dripping, the blockage was no doubt from Lakota. But what really scared me was that I smelled gasoline....and something burning, I tried moving the door but it didn't budge, smoke began to fill the safe room, so I tried again and again, I was about to give up but I in the last attempt, finally opened the secret room door, but I wasn't prepared to see what Gonzalo's men did to Lakota. Lakota laid there, from his throat down was slit opened, his organs spilled from his stomach but it was Gonzalo's & his men's signatures,they enjoyed leaving on all of his victims, he took three things, his eyes, tongue, and...their heart. I wanted to cry but knew I needed to get out of here, but not before getting Lakota's blanket, a blanket he said was passed down on his family for many generations, I place the blanket over him, making sure it covered him completely.

Jacinta: I'm sorry Lakota...I'm sorry, you didn't deserve this...my friend.

Before I could completely break down, I ran out of the place which had been my sanctuary, my home, and the home to the one person who helped me.

I turned back to take one last glance at the place before walking out into the night, but even with my heavy heart, I knew one day I would be able to get justice for Lakota, even if I take my last breath to do it, I was going to make the Gonzalo's, his men, and his employer's pay....no matter what the cost.
