Ali's POV

Saturday, May 26 2015 // 10:36 am

"I'm going outside," I yelled to my mom, who was set up at the breakfast bar typing something out for work.

"Okay," she replied, stopping to take a sip of coffee.

I slid open the backdoor to feel a draft of wind blow through my hair. I sat down in a chair at the outdoor table and opened my journal:

Cameron,
Hi. You don't know me, and you probably never will. But this is my first time ever writing to you...well, about you. I should say. I really like you, and I wished you liked me back. Sucks you don't know me. But sucks to suck, I guess.

I slammed my journal shut and looked up. The sounds of birds singing filled my ears.

"Ali!" I was disrupted from my peace by my mom.

"What?" I asked, walking back into the house.

"I'm going out to breakfast with Con," she said, shutting her macbook.

"Can I come?" I paused, "I miss my brother."

"I know you do," my mom said, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear, "but I have to talk alone with Connor for a little bit."

"Fine," I sighed.

I ran up the wooden stairs into my room. I sat down on the window seat and opened a novel called "Paper Towns". Right when I flipped the page my phone buzzed. Courtney had texted me.

Courtney: hey, mom's out of town. You know what that means!! Party tonight, 10:30.

Me: ugh, court. I don't drink. and u know how much i'd rather stay home and read

Courtney: u need to get up and have some fun while ur a teenager, stop being so geeky. Ya know maybe if you would come outside and get to know people, you might just meet a cute guy or somethingg(;;

Me: Yeah right

Courtney: Just come..it'll be fun

Me: idk maybe ill try

I read some more of my book until I heard the front door open and my mom on the phone with someone, probably her boyfriend or someone from work.

I decided to stay in my room and continue reading until my mom came into my room.

"I'm back sweetie," she informed me.

"I know," i stay focused on the book.

My mom lightly shut my door before I yelled for her to wait and come back in.

"What's up?"

"Do you mind if I hang out with Court tonight?" I folded a corner of the page I was on and dropped it on the cushion, "I might sleepover."

"Um, wow, rare." She lightly laughed under her breath.

"Yeah," i laughed, "she's having a little party so..."

"Ya know what, sure! Go have some fun tonight." My mom smiled at me and then left my room.

I picked my phone up of the window seat cushion and went right into my text messages. I clicked on Courtney's name and sent a text.

Me: k coming 2nite. what do i wear?

Courtney: yayayayayayaya, umm, idk just come idk casual but suppaaa cute, maybe heels

Me: lol, okay

Courtney: oh yeah its also at my beach house so leave ur house at like 8:30 and come to my house and we will drive together..

Me: k, cool if i sleepover?

Courtney: of oourse! ur mom wouldnt want u home drunk anyways right lol

Me: im not drinking

Courtney: take some risks, stop being a goody goody. c ya at 8:30 love ya

Me: lyttt

I threw my phone down on my bed and headed to my closet to find an outfit, which was black spaghetti strapped dress, a moon and sun print kimono, and black Jeffrey Campell 'Lita' boots. When I finished getting dressed, I walked into my bathroom and straightened my hair, then applied some black eyeliner and mascara.

"Mom," I said walking down the staris, "I'm going to Court's be home tomorrow! Love you."

I slammed the front door shut behind me after grabbing my keys and phone. I plugged the keys into the ignition, hearing the loud roar of my old Honda. I raced down the road with my hair blowing through the cool summer night wind.

Soon, I arrived at Courtney's. I pulled my phone out of the cup holder and texted her that I was here.

She walked out of her house and jumped in the passenger seat of my car.

"I'll tell you how to get there," she informed me.

Soon we arrived at the beach house and it was huge and beautiful.

I walked up to the door behind Courtney. She unlocked it and we walked inside. I had been holding a ton of decorations, to make this place look poppin' for the party, so I set them down on the kitchen island.

"Lets decorate," I said because it was almost 10 and people would be here very shortly.

At 10:15 the house was decorated completely, and looked amazing.

"Ay," Courtney started greeting people that I didn't know.

My eyes landed on this really hot guy who walked in, he already a drink in his hand and cigarette between his fingers. He took a sip of his alcohol and then a puff of his cigarette.

That turned me off real quick but I was still attracted to him.

"C'mon have a drink," Courtney walked over to me and wrapped her arm around my neck.

"Courtney, I don't drink. You know that." I reminded her.

"A party isn't a party without a drink," she frowned.

"Yes it is,"

"Not really," she laughed and i smelt the alcohol on her breath.

"Whatever, but just one." I gave in easily and I'm not really sure why.

I walked over to the bar and grabbed a beer, and took a gulp. I took another and another until I saw that hot guy walking toward me.

"Hey," he greeted me.

"Why are you talking to me, you're too pretty for me." I laughed.

"What the hell, not really," he laughed along with me.

"Whatever you say,"

He ended up talking to me until I was wasted. Yes, wasted. I know I said I wouldn't drink but, I didn't stick to my word and I was a little disappointed in myself.

Cameron,
I'm at a party and it's fun but boring. I'm kinda drunk, I guess, I don't know. I don't even know really what I'm writing right now, whatever. Just love me. Haha.
