Battle: The Last 5 Seconds

Chapter 3: Training Camp

The next day I woke up, I didn't sleep very well I was thinking about what my family was doing without me and how they were doing dazed in the moment I didn't even hear my phone ringing, it was Captain Barkley he said he needed me down in the lobby right away, I knew right then it was going to be a long day.

I got down to the lobby and there stood Captain Barkley with an excited expression in his face he said we could talk in the car and I thought to myself why is he rushing so much? We got into the car and I couldn't bare it any longer I said with a little force, maybe a little to much.
"Where are we going that is so important?"
Captain said "We are going to the training center so you can meet your squad that you will be working with and what types of bombs you will be working with."
I thought to myself, well I guess that's good so I can get s head start on all of my duties and to get to know the bomb squad.
Then we arrived at the training center it was way bigger than I had imagined I thought it would be a little area with a couple of people. Well lord was I wrong there were thousands of people in a huge building that looked like an ordinary factory. Captain Barkley drifted off somewhere while I was in my own little world trying to take everything in at once. Finally I got back to the real world and was looking at all the signs that said where we needed to go and after 10 min. I finally found the bomb center. I walked over nervously not knowing what to expect of who to expect for that matter.
To my surprise out of all the thousands of people there at the bomb squad spot there were only two people! Well I guess that's better than just me, so then I walked up and introduced myself
I said "Hi guys my name is John and I was picked to be on the bomb squad so I guess I will be working with you, so what exactly are we doing did you get any information and oh yeah what are your names?"
They both said "Hey John I am Todd and this is Cody, and we were told very little actually just that we need to practice what we have learned in the past and use it here. You can go if you want we have already went a couple times so go right ahead."
I said "It's nice to meet you and thanks for the information I'm glad to be back in the force( but not really I mean I was but I didn't want to leave my family)"

So I went over to the glass tube got all of the gear on glasses and apron type thing just in case of the fake explosion if I did it wrong which I wasn't worried about. So I got into the box studying what type of bomb it was and it was very technical but I remembered some things from my previous trainings something's like never cut the purple or orange wires. So I got everything in mind and started at it almost nicked the purple wire while cutting the red one but I have a very good eye and quickly moved the clippers back. I went a couple times after that and then got all the bombs deactivated when they put new ones in I knew exactly what to do and I knew I was ready for anything at least I thought I was.
