Chapter 10: It's strange without you

5 hours later

I paced in the waiting room, praying for Y/N to be fine. After a while of that, I saw the doctor coming out of the hospital room. I went to him immediately.

"Is she gonna be okay?" I inquired.

"Yes, " He said, "She is stable for now. She is resting. The stab needed to be sewed shut. Please try to take care of her as much as you can and of course, change the bandages every 4 hours. Or the old blood might get infectious.

I just nodded as I rushed into the room and saw Y/N. She was indeed resting. Her beautiful H/C hair was messy. I walked upto her and gently fixed her hair. So damn cute. I just wanted to hold her in my arms and keep her safe.

After a long while of admiring her beauty, I saw her opening her eyes.

"Aoi?..." She called out.

She tried to get up but I sternly pushed her back onto the pillows.

"You get out of the house without telling me, get stabbed and get yourself admitted to the hospital and then say 'Aoi' ?!" I yelled but not too loud.

Y/N flinched a bit as a few tears fell out of her E/C eyes. I pulled her in a hug.

"You fucking idiot..." I cursed.

I mumbled as I buried my face into her uninjured shoulder trying not to break.

The hug lasted longer than expected. But as we let go, I made Y/N lay back down. She did so and looked at all the wires which were connected to her hand. I stared at her hand as I held it in mine. It was cold while mine was warm. I rubbed her hand and zoned out.

The monitor was beeping as I held her hand. She felt so comforting. So, soft and fragile. Will she be okay after this?

I was brought back to reality as I felt her snapping her fingers playfully at me.

"Huh?"

"You zoned out, " She giggled.

I sighed, "Yeah, today's been a rush. "

The next day went by so strange. With no Y/N at school. It was awkwardly silent. I was used to her talking her ass off normally but today? Nah. It was rather quiet. Sometimes, I would even just look down beside myself to not find the shorter girl there with me. It was all so strange and awkward. Almost, as if, a part of me was missing. The day ended so soon without me even caring to notice. I was packing my things when I saw a text from Megami pop up to my phone's screen.

Megami

Hi, Aoi.

Hey,
sup?

Nothing, I just have
something to tell you.

Which is?

Well, since now
Ayano is safely in jail,
I am thinking of coming
back to school. 🙂

I immediately saw a reminder pop up at the notifications.
