Mean felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around to be met with a smiling Rathavit. He was wearing a pastel blue hoodie with overalls and suspenders. How cute, Mean thought. They went inside the bubble tea shop, Mean ordering a normal milk tea while Rathavit went for a taro milk tea.

"My friend talked about a carnival down town, do you maybe wanna go there with me?" Rathavit suddenly spoke up, slowly turning his head towards the floor as he neared the ending of his question. Mean thought it was cute, and without thinking much, he let out a hum followed by a nod. Rathavit looked up at him with big eyes shining like the star-filled sky at the park they had gotten so familiar with.

They got to the entrance of the carnival with their now half-filled bubble teas and before Rathavit could even get out his wallet, Mean had put his hand over his, saying: "I'm paying," as he turned to the woman behind the counter to pay.

"Here with your boyfriend?" The woman asked, nodding her head towards Rathavit.

"No, he's just a friend," Mean said, a small feeling of sadness lingering in his voice.

"Unfortunately," Mean added while mumbling, almost whispering. The woman looked up confused.

"What did you say?"

"Oh, nothing," Mean quickly said, shaking his head as he finally paid. The two went in after hearing the woman's "have a good day!". Mean and Rathavit chose to ride some of those pedal boats shaped as swans while finishing up their milk teas. As they got into the boats, they could hear faint whispers from a group of girls standing besides the lake in which they were gonna ride the boat.

"Omg! Look at that couple!" One girl said as she pointed at Mean and Rathavit.

"They're so cute!" Another girl said, squealing.

"And handsome too!" A third girl said. All this made Rathavit's cheeks burn and he looked down to try to hide the blush that was ever increasing. Mean just looked awkwardly around and quickly but safely got into the boat followed by Rathavit. They sat there a bit in silence not knowing what to say. Rathavit slowly felt himself getting conscious. I don't even know if Phiravich likes guys, he thought as he stared out at the lake.

"Let's go!" Rathavit suddenly said, beaming. He wanted to break the awkward silence and tension that had engulfed the two. Mean gave him a small smile before starting to pedal.

The light wind that was created from the boat's movement throughout the lake tucked in the boys' hairs and it felt refreshing for the both. The lake was big and from it, you had the view of the ferris wheel and upon discovering the ferris wheel, Mean made a mental note to take Rathavit there. Trees also surrounded the lake on the opposite side of where the carnival was, reminding the both of the lake in the park. The two didn't say much as they finished their bubble teas and just took in the comfortableness of the whole situation.

When finished with the pedal boat, Rathavit stormed to the nearest shop to get himself his long-awaited cotton candy. On the way to the carnival, he had bragged about how he could eat a big stick of cotton candy in just 30 seconds to which Mean just giggled heartily. Rathavit quickly paid for his cotton candy and as soon as they were out of the shop, he took all the cotton candy and stuffed it in his mouth, the cotton candy quickly melting away into sugar crystals that he swallowed.

"See? Less than 30 seconds," Rathavit said, proud. Mean couldn't help but laugh at the boy in front of him. He had sticky cotton candy all around his mouth, and Mean leaned forward and wiped some of it off his cheek with his finger. Rathavit blushed at this but was shocked when Mean then put his finger in his mouth to suck off the cotton candy.

"It tastes good," Mean said thoughtfully before continuing, "Let's go to the claw machines."

After a while of walking around trying to make sense of directions, they found the claw machines. Mean went to the Pokémon claw machine and after just two tries, he got the Snorlax plushie. He proudly took it from the machine and held it out for Rathavit to take who at this action looked confused up at Mean.

"Is this for me?" Rathavit asked, his big eyes lingering on the Snorlax. Mean nodded and Rathavit took it and held it close as if he something bad would happen if he let go. Mean contently looked at Rathavit as they began walking to their next destination in the big carnival: the rides.

After many rides and moments of dizziness where Rathavit could barely stand straight, Mean of course being there to assist him, they found their way to the ferris wheel. They got up and at the top, the both almost fell breathless. The view of the city from up there was absolutely ethereal, you could see almost everything from up there, including the park they always went to.

"Can you see the park?" Rathavit asked as he pointed in the direction of the park. Mean nodded.

"Yeah, it looks so small from up here," he responded as he looked away from the park to look at Rathavit who looked at the city with a fascinated look on his face. The wind up there was a bit stronger, and Rathavit's body started trembling at the cold touch. Mean noticed this and took off his black leather jacket to put over Rathavit.

"Thanks," Rathavit said with rosey cheeks and a small smile. Mean just shrugged and continued admiring the city as the came back to the ground.

before i say anything, i just wanna apologize for not having updated this story in literally one and a half month, crazy how much time has passed, and i feel really bad for kind of leaving this story in the dark. but now chapter nine is finally out and i hope you like it!

to feel a bit more motivated, i got a person to help me, a special co-writer of this chapter, hahah. she's freya, the girl who i've mentioned before, who's also the girl i'm writing this story to, hahah.

anygays, hope you like it, it's a bit shorter than usual, i feel like, but i do lack motivation and creative imagination, but hopefully the next chapters will be longer and better. and have a good day or morning or evening or night or whatever! <3
