"I'm not sure what you mean..." you tried.

The man before you just laughed. "Like hell, you aren't. You know exactly what I'm talking about."
You stayed silent, praying that this was a nightmare and you would wake up at any second.

With a huff, he continued. "Look, I'm sorry if I'm being pushy. But I'm incredibly confused right now. A complete stranger stopped me on the streets this morning and warned me that I shouldn't go in to work on time. I was going to ignore it, but there was something in your eyes... it was like you were begging me not to go. And then you just disappeared."

Your hand came up to touch the back of your neck as you listened to the person before you relay his side of the story.

"I continued on my way to work...but then I saw a cafe about a block from my building and I don't know what came over me but I stopped in. I got a coffee and some breakfast and then I ate inside. By the time I got to the office, everyone was in shock."

You'd never done anything like this before. Sure, your instincts had saved people from heart ache before but never had you saved someone's life. You were almost in shock.

"How did you know, how could you tell that something like that was going to happen?" He paused. "Wait, are you psychic?"

You looked up sheepishly at him, searching for the words you needed to explain yourself. But to be honest, they did not exist.

"Psychic's not the word I would use. I don't have a crystal ball and I definitely didn't plan on saving your life." You murmured

The man across from you chuckled. "Well, you could've fooled me." He said with a smile. "So how does it work?"

"Well... I'm not entirely sure. I mean it's not like I can tell the words that are about to come out of your mouth. I can't read your mind. And I can't even do it all the time, only on select occasions... when something big is about to happen. Although, the more I'm around someone the easier it gets."

"But how did you know that the elevator would fall?" He asked, leaning forward eagerly.

You were shocked at his excitement. "You don't think I'm...a freak?" You asked, confusion seeping from every word.

"I think it makes me want to know more." He said, leaning back and resting his hands on the table. You were reminded of how pretty he was once more. "But seriously. How could you have known that the elevator would fall?"

"I didn't." You admitted finally. "It's less like clairvoyance and more in line with... instinct, if that makes any sense. I don't know what's going to happen and when just that something will happen and soon. And it's not so much in my head as it is in my stomach."

"But you knew it would happen at work?" He pointed out.

"Well that aspect is sort of like blurting out an accidental guess and then getting it right." You explained, scratching once more at the nape of your neck.

"You don't seem very comfortable with this." He stated after a few incredibly awkward minutes of silence.

"Well, I'm not really...I don't typically share this information with people." You sighed, examining your nail beds for like the 50th time in 15 minutes

"Oh, god, I'm sorry, I haven't even introduced myself. I'm Seungkwan, Boo Seungkwan."

"Y/N." You answered grabbing and shaking the hand that he'd offered to you. "I'm really very sorry about my mother setting up this whole thing. You're probably very busy and she has it in her head that I won't be happy until I'm married."
