Ivy was walking down to BROWN MUG cafe, the small cafe the girls choose to have dinner as it was Thursday. The days seem to go quickly for Ivy. Probably because all she has to look forward to is these little meals with her best friend. Even though it's just one meal together it meant something for Ivy. Lily was always busy after she got married, but Ivy can't blame her. Marriage is one of a kind, committing yourself to one person and one person only sounded a bit too much for Ivy. She was never against the idea of marriage, she just found it  Finding oneself the perfect person to spend their entire life with is quite a big task to ask someone, so she would rather take time and find them instead of hurrying and ending up with the wrong one, meanwhile, she could enjoy this feeling of freedom and independence.

At the cafe, things were off. Lily was already there as usual. But there was something unusual about it. The air filled with some sort of melancholy or desolation..

She was eating just chips. Nothing else. Ivy can't remember the last time Lily ate chips for dinner, Lily became such a health freak after her marriage that she hasn't even gotten drunk after her marriage with James. Ivy could now swear to god that something was going on, SOMETHING BAD. Lily didn't even order for Ivy. Usually Lily orders everything because she knows how indecisive Ivy can be sometimes, none of that happened tonight, she was glued to her phone, too submerged in whatever she was doing to notice the arrival of Ivy

When Ivy sat with Lily on the far end of the cafe, she asked Lily the only her mind has been asking herself "Is everything okay, Lil's?"

"yea everything's fine, why'd you ask?" Lily replied. Ivy wasn't that stupid to not see that her best friend was being troubled by something "I have known for a very long time Lil's, at this point I can sense if you didn't poop this morning or not, And you're not eating a salad and you didn't order for me either, so what's wrong?" Lily never thought Ivy actually notices these little things she always seems so childish "I didn't think you notice all those things" Lily said quietly

"I notice a lot of things, I just chose not to make them known. I find it weird that YOU never notice me arriving here in this killer ass outfit that you brought for me, so something is up, tell me" Ivy spoke with earnest and worry both evident in her voice

"I'm sorry I didn't notice your outfit,  I am not very keen at observing things and you know that and that's the reason you're a chemist and I am an entrepreneur."

"Mrs Evans, are you implying that business doesn't need observation? because I clearly recall  you giving me 1 and a half-hour long  lectures and the hundred presentations saying how business is the best field for you and how observation is one of the key elements you need in business " Ivy said with an all too known smirk tagging along with her words

Lily chuckled a bit, reconciling her mind with the memories of herself in her twenties  "No need to quote the 20-year-old myself, I remember her more than I should." Lily smiled but Ivy could see that the smile didn't reach her eyes which brought her back to what she had actually  intended to ask in the first place

"No but seriously what's going on, don't lie to me. There's no point in lying to me, you know I will know it when you're lying, you're a shit liar actually. So tell me what's wrong?"

"I, I just-, it's stupid really...." Lily hesitantly replied

"Really? You are not saying it to me because you think it might be stupid? We've done and seen every stupid thing a person could ever do in their lifetime. And you know that no matter what I would never judge you, if I was to , our friendship would've been broken long ago, like when you tried to burn down your neighbour's house and your idea of burning down the house was to cover it in sodium metal and wait for the rain to come, there are so many factors to be considered in that scenario, and there are so many easier ways to burn down a house like just set in on flames, use petrol or something, thats when I knew you're shit at chemistry and at knowing the  availability of resources, I didn't judge you then, so hun whatever you're gonna say now isn't going to be any better than that, so  you are going to tell me now or I will find it one way or another or I ranted all this for nothing and I will have to get you drunk to get it out of you and that's a way I don't want to do it, considering your 'no alcohol streak' have been going strong for 4 years now " Ivy responded with a rant which was intended to a brusque answer
