After escaping the bot fighting gang we'd just conned out of twenty bucks, Hiro and I walked slowly to his house. I'd been sleeping over there. Surprised? A girl can't sleep over at a boy's house, right?! Wrong. Don't be so judgy. Since Hiro and I have known each other for a long time, my parents allowed it, not that they were around often... My parents had split when I was young, and my father, whom I live with, has a busy job to support his family. He's almost never home. That's why I spend an awful lot of time at Hiro's. It's not healthy to be alone constantly...
Still panting and heaving for breathe, I handed Hiro a ten dollar bill.
"Here. Your split."
Hiro grabbed the bill with a smile before stuffing it into his pocket.
"Haha. I can't believe you're still panting. Jeez, you're a horrible runner."
"Shouldn't your response have been 'thank you'?! How rude... And besides, who cares that I suck at running? We survived, didn't we? So I'm good enough!" I voiced with a pout.
"Pfft. Whatever, don't get your panties in a twist."
"What the hell kinda metaphor is that?" I sighed.
Hiro chuckled again as he smiled his dorky smile back at me. I just glared in response, causing him to chuckle yet again. It must have been contagious because I started laughing as well. It was impossible to stay mad at Hiro. He was too dorky and his hair too fluffy. It was really impossible not to be pulled in by his childish charm...
