Luka's P.O.V
I was really starting to worry at this point. Len hadn't talked to me – not even once – in nearly two days. Not even a text, or a phone call. I didn't know if it was because he was embarrassed, or because he assumed that since I didn't respond to his confession that I didn't feel the same way. Which was true, somewhat. I only thought of him as a friend. But that night... I could have sworn that the feelings that I felt towards him at that exact moment were more than that. Then again, I had no clue what it felt like to love someone. Not in that way.
I barely payed attention in class, I was too focused on the fact that Len was staring at me the whole time. Not the creepy kind of staring – if that makes sense – he seemed like he wanted to tell me something. I saw him jot something down on a sheet of paper, folding it up and secretively passing it to me below the desks. I hesitantly grabbed it, opening it carefully not to make too much noise.
Meet me at the bench outside after school.
I immediately looked over in his direction, catching his eyes before he quickly looked away. I looked at the note setting in my lap, noticing how cute Len's handwriting was. I felt a smile tug at my lips while slipping the paper into my notebook.
--
I quickly walked down the hallway, my heart racing as I thought about everything that was happening. Suddenly a tall boy cut off my path, inches away from me as I stopped in my tracks. I slowly looked up to find a pair of dark blue eyes looking into mine. “Hi.” he said, stepping a foot back and grinning like a psycho. I tensed up, feeling uncomfortable by his expression. “Sorry, I just wanted to ask you something. I won't keep you waiting too long though... you look like you're in a bit of a hurry there.” I blink, registering the situation. Then I realize who it was. “Ah! Kaito, was it?” I asked, hoping I got his name right. “Yup!” He affirmed, his smile still present.
“So, what's your question?” I asked. His grin grew impossibly larger, and his eyes sparkled. “I was just wondering, by chance, do you happen to be free tomorrow?”
I felt my abdomen tighten at his question. I could feel my face heat up, and my breath became heavier. “I-I think so... I d-don't get out much, you see.” I informed, my eyes glued to the floor. “Sweet! I was thinking it'd be cool if we could hang out!” He exclaimed. “Here, let's exchange phone numbers and I'll call you tonight to discuss plans and such, okay?”
---
I gave Kaito my number without thinking it through, instantly regretting it after he left. I shrugged it off and finally arrived at the bench outside the school. Len was sitting down, and when he saw me his eyes widened. I slowly sat beside him, unsure if I should speak up first. After a few minutes of dreadful silence, Len turned his body to face me. “So...” He started, drawing out the 'o'. “The reason I asked you to come here... well, it's about the other night when... you know.” I stared at my hands which were damp, and gently nodded my head. “I'm really sorry about it. I- um- didn't mean to...” He mumbled, “I didn't mean to tell you, well, like that.”
“So, could you like... forget that it ever happened?” He asked. I quickly turned to face him, his eyes locking on mine. “Len... I don't think I could ever forget that. I don't think any less of you because of it, and there's no reason for you to apologize about it. We can pretend it didn't happen, if you'd like, but I don't think I'm capable of forgetting it all together.” He stared at me for a second, then giggled. “Since when do you talk that much?” He said, his blue eyes lighting up. I could feel my face burning, just then realizing how close we were sitting.
I shot up from the bench and smoothed down my skirt. “Um, I should really get going...” I said, “Homework.” Len's face softened. “Oh, right. Same here. Eh, see you later then!” He said with a smile, waving as he took off with his bag.
I DID IT.
Two uploads in one week! Yeah, they're really short, but it's better than the nothing it was before!
Well, it just hit 100 reads a few days ago! That's awesome!! I'm hoping it'll be up to 1000 by the time I'm finished, if my writing keeps improving! (which it has been, if you haven't noticed. YAS)
I don't know when it's going to end, we'll just have to see! I'll keep writing until it feels like time for the ending!
Yeah, Kaito is a creep. Luka will (should) be fine though! ^^" OR NOT (I haven't written the next chapter yet, so I don't know what'll happen either. <.< >.>)
