I hesitantly walked into the house, following Kaito. After eating the pizza he ordered shortly after our arrival, we sat down on the couch to play a video game he seemed to really want to introduce me to. Video games aren't really something I was familiar with, or something I was interested in for that matter, but I didn't want to make him feel bad so I decided to keep quiet about it.
"Luka! What are you doing? That area is filled with grunts and you're out of ammo!" Kaito yelled. "I-I am? What? When did that happen?" I said out loud to myself, beyond confused of what the purpose of this game was. Kaito laughed, pausing the game and turning to face me. "Okay, I see that you're not really into this. Wanna do something else instead?" He asked, smiling broadly. "Um, okay. Sure!" I said, honestly glad that I didn't have to play that game anymore. "Alright! So, what kind of movies do you like? I'm cool with whatever you feel like watching." He informed, opening up Netflix on the Xbox.
"Hmm... I don't know. I guess I tend to watch a lot of romance? I kind of like adventure too I guess. Depends on what it is." Kaito nodded, quickly scrolling to the romance section. "Romance it is!" He said loudly, his grin growing bigger. "I'm not really into this stuff, but I'll watch it anyways. I did make you play Halo with me, after all. This way it's even." He shrugged, clicking on a random movie from the romance selection.
The movie turned out to be absolutely awful, and Kaito stopped it ten minutes in. I pulled out my phone to look at the time. 8:43. "Oh, I really should get going soon." I said, standing up. I really didn't have anything important to do at home, but the atmosphere was getting way too awkward for me to handle. "Already?" Kaito asked, tilting his head. "But we haven't even done anything! If you're bored, we can go up to my room and listen to music. Or whatever." I sighed, looking at the floor. "Uhm, okay... I'm kinda thirsty though. May I get some water first?" I asked, looking back up at Kaito. "Oh, sure! Go ahead! I'll wait for ya." Kaito said, grinning.
I walked to the kitchen that was located right behind the living room, and poured myself a glass of water out of the tap. I took a sip, and sat the glass down. Kaito's house was a bit... eerie, I guess you could say. And the fact that Kaito and I were the only ones here made it all the more creepier.
I was about to head back into the living room, when suddenly I felt something- or someone- grabbing my waist. I involuntarily screamed and spinned around to what had just touched me, and to my surprise there stood Kaito, looking just as shocked as I was. "Oh my gosh, I-I'm so sorry!" I apologized, quickly bowing. My face felt as if it were on fire at this point.
Kaito smiled, and shook his head. "Nah, that was my fault." He said, putting his hand on the countertop behind me, shrinking the distance between us immensely. I felt my heart rate speed up, and my eyes were locked into his. He had a hungry look in his eyes, which made me tremble. I felt helpless.
Suddenly my phone rang, breaking the silence and causing the both of us to jump. "S-sorry." I said breathlessly, pulling out my phone. It was Len. I looked back up at Kaito. "Do you mind if I answer this outside? I won't be long." I said. "Um, go ahead." He said, putting a hand behind his head.
After stepping outside, I answered the call. "Hello?" I said, as naturally as possible. "Luka! What's up?" Len said on the other end, sounding a bit tense. "N-nothing really. Just at a... friends house. What did you need to call me about?" I asked, curious to why he was calling me this late. "Oh, um... no reason. Just wanted to see if you were okay. Word got around that you went to, um, Kaito's house tonight..." He said, his voice trailing off. "W-what?" I practically screamed. "How does anyone know about that?"
Len nervously laughed on the other end. "Well... you do know that Kaito is pretty much the prince of our school, right? Everyone always finds out one way or another if he's going out with someone new." He said, as if all this information was common sense. I froze, unable to comprehend what I was hearing. Someone new? So Kaito was going out with other girls as well?
"I've got to go Len. I'll call you later." I said coldly, hanging up the call. I stormed into the house and walked up to the couch where Kaito was sitting. He stood up, his smile dropping once he saw me. "L-luka? You okay? You don't look so go-" He said, before I slapped him as hard as I could. He stood still, holding the side of his face. He looked at me with his now terrified expression. "Take me home please."
I hope you liked this chapter! The next one will be in Len's pov, promise. xD
So, we have found out another thing that triggers Luka's scary side! Oh, and I have developed a hatred for Kaito due to writing this. It's hard for me to listen to his music now >.<
