Promises(Part 6)
Ana walked inside her own room and felt how much her own body was shaking. This all was too much and the mask she has been putting on in front of everyone wanted to collapse. After eight years, she was in peace with herself. Life was beautiful again and this all happened thanks to Dhruv. He picked her up when she was at her worst and put piece by piece back together, till she finally became whole again. Till she finally found herself again.
She didn't like talking about her past and Dhruv respected her wish, assuming she couldn't remember anything. She could have told Dhruv he was wrong. She could have told him she could remember every and each second of her painful past but she decided to leave the past behind.
Her new life was exciting and beautiful. She saw many nice places in this world and felt loved. Dhruv gave his best to make her happy. In the beginning, she didn't want to hear anything about life and how nice it could be to live. She wanted to remain silent in her own loveless life. Hiding in a room, Khushi rarely uttered any wish to leave the safe place, but Dhruv forced her to live and enjoy her life, step by step.
She completed her education in medicine which became her wish after the traumatic experience in the hospital. Dhruv supported her in her studies. He was always the giving one, asking for nothing in return.
To save her life Dhruv risked a lot. He could easily let her die but he didn't want to. He rather risked his whole future than to let her go. And even Khushi planed something else as destiny for herself, she couldn't hate him. In fact, Dhruv was the first one who truly cared about her.
Khushi remembered how Dhruv told her it would be better to marry so that she could leave India without any problems and at that time she was not in her sense enough to refuse this offer. She would have said yes to anything just to be left alone. At that time she didn't talk much and he didn't asked anything. Not even her past was something for him. It was like he felt that she didn't want to talk about it and respected her decision.
Even when she claimed to be Ana, Dhruv didn't argue. He made sure the name Ana was in all her papers without any further questions.
They married and left India eight years ago. Dhruv often travelled to India because of his work and he was also the one who organized the celebration every year because the hospital they met in, belonged partly to him. It happened when his mother invested her whole money into this place and he felt it as an obligation to take care of his mother's last wish who died due to cancer.
The life went on and Khushi finally became closer to her old self again. After that, she decided to celebrate their anniversary for the very first time. She prepared food and waited for him to come home. The moment Dhruv walked through the door, his eyes widened and she saw how much surprised he was. The dinner was somehow very romantic with all candles she lit as a decoration.
It seemed that Dhruv changed his behavior totally after that night when he kissed her for the very first time. They never talked about it and Khushi didn't encourage him for more but it seemed like she broke her walls of self preservation and finally dared to reach something new. Something she thought would not exist anymore for her. The man who was married to her, who was Khushi's savior, wanted more.
When Dhruv asked her to come back to India with him for this event, at first, she refused, but seeing his sad face, Khushi decided to come with him. And now she had to see the face of the only person who was once the owner of her heart and soul and hurted her beyond repair.
Khushi was shattered to see Arnav in front of her. He didn't change much, except the small wrinkles around his eyes. Looking back to the earlier conversation with him, Khushi wondered about herself. She managed to keep her feelings under control and continue with her acting even though, she wanted to burst out and tell him so many things that were buried somewhere deep inside.
