IT HAD BEEN thirty minutes since Cloud started looking for Jacques. At dahil hindi niya ito nakita sa loob ng bahay, lumabas siya para sa ibang bahay ito hanapin. Yes, Jacques was not a homebody anymore. Tumatambay na ito sa ibang bahay — preferably Mr. Kim and Mr. Volkzki's house.
Why?
Because of the kids.
Hindi pa siya tuluyang nakakapasok sa bahay ni Shun Kim, naririnig na niya ang boses ng mga batang naglalaro sa loob at nasisiguro niyang nandoon si Jacques.
Jacques loved kids. He liked taking care of them and spoiling them. Especially the chubby ones. Like KN and Eiji, Shun and Themarie's second son.
At tama ang hinala ni Cloud dahil nang makapasok siya sa bahay ni Shun Kim, kaagad niyang nakita sa salas ang Marquess na pinapakain ng chocolates ang dalawang malulusog na bata — si KN at Eiji. Habang si NK naman ay kasama si RV, anak ni Valerian at Grace, sa mahabang sofa at nagbabasa ang mga ito ng Atlas.
"Now ... who's the chubbiest?" Jacques asked while grinning at KN at Eiji.
"Me!" Sabay na sigaw ni KN at Eiji saka sabay na tiningnan ng masama ang isa't-isa.
"Who's the fluffiest?" Jacques asked again.
"Me!" KN and Eiji both answered and the two glared at each other afterwards.
"No!" Tumayo pa ang mahigit dalawang taong gulang na KN at nameywang kay Eiji. "I'm the chubbiest and the fluffiest! Can't you see my fats?!"
"No!" Tumayo rin si Eiji habang nakapameywang kay KN. "I'm the chubbiest and the fluffiest!"
"Nooo!"
"Nooo!"
KN cupped his own chubby cheeks. "The horror!"
Jacques laughed at the cuteness in front of him. These kids were his happy pill, addition to Cloud of course.
"No! I'm the chubbiest and the fluffiest!" Mahaba ang nguso na sabi ni KN saka humarap sa kaniya. "Right, Tito Jacq?"
Jacques smiled. "You're both fluffy and chubby—"
"No!" Eiji pouted. "I'm the chubbiest and fluffiest!"
"No! It's me!"
And the two kids started arguing who's the chubbiest and fluffiest and Jacques had to break the two up.
"Then let's have a contest, not so chubby and fluffy, Eiji." Nanghahamon pa ang boses ni KN. "the most chubbiest and fluffiest! And i'm going to win!"
Natatawa nalang si Jacques sa dalawang batang nag-aagawan sa titulong chubbiest and fluffiest. Shaking his head while feeding the kids chocolate, his eyes caught Cloud leaning on the doorway frame, looking at him.
'What?' He mouthed.
Cloud mouthed back. 'I love you.'
Mabilis na ipinakita niya ang gitnang daliri kay Cloud at kaagad iyong ibinaba dahil baka makita ng mga bata na ikinatawa naman ni Cloud.
That's when KN saw Cloud. "Tito Cloud! Tito Cloud!" KN ran — more like bounced towards Cloud. "Sino ang chubbiest and fluffiest samin ni Eiji?"
Cloud didn't know what to say, he knew that his words could affect these kids, so he was thankful when Thamarie, Shun's wife entered the living room.
"Come on kids, time to eat. Snack's ready!"
"Foooood!" Forgetting his question, KN immediately ran towards Themarie who laughed at KN and Eiji's fast movement. Then NK, RV and Saito followed.
