The Monday after their lunch, Marinette was pouring over her class notes as a windstorm raged outside. The light from her desk lamp was beginning to give her a headache, so she moved to stretch out on her chaise and take a break.

She pulled out her phone to message Chat.

Me: "Hey Kitty. Whatcha up to?"

He messaged her back within seconds. She knew he was probably waiting by his phone, but decided not to tease him about it.

Chat: "Not much at the moment. You?"

Me: "Just sort of hanging around, finishing a project for school."

Chat: "Aw man, I get that. What class?"

Me: "Science. More chem compounds which is NOT my forte."

Chat: "Oof, I'll pray for you."

Me: "Thanks."

Chat: "Anything more interesting happening lately?"

Me: "Not really. Finishing a couple of commissions for friends."

Chat: "Anything for me in the mix? ;)"

Me: "Maybe, if you're patient."

Chat: "You know, you missed an obvious pun there."

Me: "I didn't miss it, just chose to ignore it."

Marinette looked up from her phone to see the sun break through the clouds. She thought it was odd considering the forecast for the day, but decided it was nothing.

Chat: So, what about patrol?"

Me: "What about it? ;)"

Chat: "C'mon M'Lady, really?"

Me: "Just playing around. Usual time and place."

Chat: "Got it."

Suddenly, a scream tore through the quiet.

Me: "Did you hear that?"

Chat: "Yeah, something's going down."

Me: "I'll meet you outside the school."

Marinette called to Tikki, who was bundled up behind a pillow, and transformed. She climbed through the hatch in her ceiling and attached her yoyo around the railing. She jumped and landed squarely on the front steps of the highschool, just in time to see her partner land across the street.

He ran up to meet her. "Any idea where the akumatized person is?" he asked.

"No clue," she responded. "The scream sounded like it came from The Place des Vosges, but the villain could be anywhere now."

He nodded, and without any further conversation they took off across the rooftops for the park.

They landed near the fountain and immediately spotted the villain terrorizing the park-goers, hovering above the carousel. She was clad in a yellow dress with tiny white daisies scattered along the hem and sleeves. Her dark hair had been twisted up into a braid with identical daisies woven into it.

Her weapon was a large staff, with a comically disproportionate daisy on the end, from which a yellow beam was emanating. It was a rather unusual sight all put together, she looked like she walked straight out of a cartoon.

She cackled and held aloft her staff. "I am Daisy Chain!" she shouted. "With my staff, I'll be able to take the whole of Paris back to a simpler time!"
