The three sisters, Meg, Jo and Charlotte, walked into the room. Meg wandered off somewhere and Jo was trying find her.

Charlotte stood beside a door when a man looked at her nodding to where the people were dancing, implying that he wants to dance with her. She gave an awkward smile and walked away to where she saw a curtain to which led to another room.

She ran in there and bumped into a person. She looked up to see a good-looking and very serious looking man.

"Oh, dear me, I didn’t know anyone was in here!" Charlotte said startled by the man. "Don't mind me, stay if you like." He said with a gentle voice.

"No, I wouldn't want to intrude." Charlotte said. "No, I insist." He calmly said.

"I won't disturb you?" Charlotte asked.

"Not at all, I don't know many people, and I felt rather strange at first, you know. He sighed. "So do I"

They both stood there, not knowing what to say next.

"Miss March, is it?" He questioned. "Yes, Mr Laurence but I'm not Miss March, I'm only Charlotte." "And I'm not Mr Laurence, I'm only Laurie."

The both looks at each other smiling.

"Are you not going to dance?" Charlotte comfortably asked. "I don't know how you do things here yet. You see, I've spent most my life in Europe." He replied.

"EUROPE?! THATS AMAZING!" Charlotte shouted loudly but not loud enough for anybody but Laurie.

"Oh sorry, I shouldn't shout." Charlotte says catching herself. "Says who?" Laurie asks curiously.

"Meg, She's my older sister."

The both peek through the curtain and Charlotte points to Meg dancing.

"That's her, in the violet dress." Charlotte says looking at Meg. "Very pretty." Laurie says looking at her.

"And that's my other sister, Jo. In the maroon dress."

Charlotte walks back to the sofa to go sit on it. Laurie stays standing. "Charlotte... would you like to dance with me?"

"I can't because..." "Because what?" "I can't dance." Charlotte says looking at her dress.

"Everyone can dance." Laurie says gently laughing. "Well, I can't! I always try but I just end up looking like a crazy person."

"Well, we don't have to dance... well."

5 minutes later

Laurie does a little curtsy, Charlotte bows and they dance wildly and jump about. They laugh and they actually have fun, which they both didn't expect coming to this party.

There's a knock on the window. It's Meg with Jo, she points to her ankle which is red and quite swollen. "My foot, I've hurt my ankle.

Meg limps, Charlotte and Jo holding her by the waist, supporting her and Laurie is behind them.

"How will I get home?" Meg cried. "The only options you have is to get a carriage  or stay here all night." Jo said. "Carriages are too expensive."

"Well, let me take you. It's right next door." Laurie offered. "No thank you, we cannot accept." Meg said, too humble to accept.

"You must take mine, please!" Laurie practically begged. "What choice do you have?" Charlotte sighed.

The March Household

All four walked in, Laurie, Jo and Charlotte supporting Meg. Marmee laughed, "Goodness gracious, what have you done?!"

Charlotte sat Meg down, while Jo fell down in to the sofa while Laurie stood there not knowing what to do. Beth and Amy came running down.

"We have a wounded soldier!" Jo shouts.

"I hurt my ankle dancing!" "Oh Meg! You'll kill yourself for fashion one of these days. Hannah, we need ice!"

Laurie stands there not wanting to intrude, but loving watch this family, so happy, so loving.

"Come in, come in! Apologies for the chaos, I enjoy baking in the middle of the night! Don't mind the clutter, Mr Laurence, we don't. Marmee exclaimed kindly.

"Laurie, please."

"You must be apart of the girls' theatricals. They could use an extra player, although you'll have to fight Jo And Charlotte for the male roles or play a girl. Here, gave a scone." She said handing him a scone.

"Laurie, how are your ankles? Do you need ice?" Marmee says laughing. "No thank you, ma'am" Laurie says also laughing.

"Oh, just call me Mother, or Marmee. Everyone does."

After a while, they all say their goodbyes to Laurie and they go upstairs to prepare for bed. Laurie walk out of the March household, looking up to see Charlotte painting something. He smiles and then walks away.
