Kingston's POVTrue to Alyssa's word she got me tickets to the game. I was getting ready to leave my house. I was clad in her jersey that she so graciously sent to me, black shorts, black and grey Jordan 1's high, and a CRS SnapBack. I made sure my shoulder brace was tight and I had taken all my meds before getting in the car and driving up to the field.
I was overjoyed to see a game. Arriving at the stadium it had a decent attendance already with a little under 30 minutes before kick off. I grabbed myself a drink and found my seat as I watched the two teams warm up.
Alyssa looked good, and I'm not just talking physically, her fundamentals were rock solid. She played with her head more then her heart and I admired that. And when I say that I mean she played smart rather then emotionally.
The game kicks off shortly after that. Nothing to big happened until in the 15th minute Jessica McDonald delivers for NCC with a goal to give them a 1-0 lead to start off the game. I was a little salty but the ball was just outta Alyssa's grasp and there was nothing she could do about it.
In the 40th minute Colprico gets booked with a yellow. The two teams head into the locker room with North Carolina having a 1 goal lead over Alyssa and the Chicago red stars.
Once the two teams come back from halftime it's as if someone lit a fire under the CRS team. They were building and in the 52nd minute Press delivers the equalizer for Chicago. 1-1.
Both teams are hungry at this point Julie gets booked in the 73rd minute, and Mcall Zerboni follows shortly after getting booked in the 77th minute.
As the clock winds down both teams are hungry for a goal and that is when Yuki Nagasato is able to score giving Chicago the lead with only 6 minutes left in regulation time.
And that is how they finished the game 2-1 against the North Carolina courage securing the win.
I wait till most of the fans have cleared out to head down to the wall that separates the stands from the pitch.
Alyssa spots me and heads over. Once she's near me I start speaking. "Good game babe." I offer as I extend my hand for a fist bump.
"Thanks."
"Hey wanna come back with me and chill before you fly out in two days?"
"I can ask my coach. So like hang back for about 30 minutes and I'll text you if I can't make it."
"Okay. Well I love and I'm proud of you."
"I Love you too." Is all she says before hugging me and heading to meet with her coach while I turn to head to the car park.
I finally find my car after what feels like an eternity and get in it. I drive closer to the stadium and park in the rapidly emptying parking lot.
After about 5 minutes of waiting I get a text form Alyssa.
Babe: hey Rory gave me the all clear is it okay if Sam and Nikki come?
Me:yeah just make sure they are okay with staying in the guest bed room.
I wait a few minutes before getting a reply back
Babe:they said it's fine with them.
Me: okay I'm in Lot C, Toyota Tundra, white.
I text her and wait for her to come find me. She and two other players knock on the window about 15 minutes later.
I get out and put there bags away before introducing myself.
They all clamber into my truck and buckle up before I drive off. "So you are the Kingston Lys can't shut up about?" Sam questions.
"I guess. You must be the Aussie who annoys Alyssa. She's always complaining about you." I say and lightly elbow Alyssa.
