Sagarika was curled up in a ball, crying to herself because the memories of Dyut were flashing in front of her eyes and their voices ringed in her mind.
"No one can stop us from violating your honour today !"
"WHY CAN'T YOU SEE IT ?!?! THE MORE YOU'LL RESIST THE MORE HORRIBLE YOUR INSULT WILL BE !!!"
"Why are you relying on such righteousness Dasi Sagarika, that makes warriors incompetent ? Come and establish a relationship with me. It will give me happiness and you will get security. Come Dasi Sagarika !!"
"Aao ! meri Jangha par baitho !"
"Dushashan, the way the Pandavas stripped our weapons at the court in Indraprasth, in front of entire Aryavart, in the same manner, in this court we shall strip the clothes of their wife !!"
"VAISHYA HOTI HAI AISI STREEYA ! Aur Vaishya ka maan kya apmaan kya ? Aisi stree ke tan par vastra ho ya na ho, koi bhed nahi !"
"ENOUGH !" Sagarika screamed holding her head, not able to take it.
"Sakhi ?" She heard the voice of Krishna.
She looked around and saw him standing at her balcony as always. Sagarika stood up and ran up to him, falling at his feet.
"Keshav...." She sobbed.
"Sakhi, get up." He said making her sit up as he too sat down beside her.
"What was my fault Keshav ? What did I do that I was subjected to such a humiliation ?" Sagarika asked.
"Whatever happened wasn't the fruit of your deeds, it was just a tragic incident that you didn't deserve." Krishna said.
"The Pandavas who used to stand up for the slightest of unrighteousness didn't stand up to save my honour. The Pandavas who were always ready to lay down their lives to fulfill their duty forgot all duties towards me today. And the reason they gave me " Sagarika said.
"Sakhi, the pain you have endured should be endured by no one. But don't drown yourself with sadness and guilt, free your heart from all the troubles." Krishna said keeping his hand on her head.
"So you're saying I should forgive the Kauravas ?" Sagarika asked in disbelief.
"Yes. Forgive them otherwise revenge shall consume you." Krishna said.
"Never !" Sagarika said.
"I know it is hard, but just imagine if they can do this to Samragyi then imagine the condition of women in the Aryavart. Think about it." Krishna said. Sagarika looked at him.
"There are many women being exploited and dishonored by men. Don't worry there will be a war, and your culprits will get punishment. All I am asking you is to forgive them and instead of revenge, give them justice." Krishna said.
"Then what's the difference between revenge and justice ?" Sagarika asked.
"If you wage a war for yourself then it is revenge, and if you wage war for the well being of other women and show those treacherous men what will happen if they try to exploit women, then it will be justice." Krishna said. Sagarika looked down, in deep thinking.
"I forgive them all Keshav, I forgive them all." Sagarika said.
"Well done Sakhi. Now you have taken the first step that will cause the annihilation of Duryodhan." Krishna saidm
