It's been a while since techno had left.

Yes, this is a common occurrence. This stuff happens all the time. But he's never gone this long. I mean, how long does it take for someone to go to the nether and back? Sure, it's practically hell, but Philza and Technoblade have went through hell and back multiple times. Both figuratively, and literally.
Techno and Phil go out on these hunts all the time. They leave for a week or so, then come back just to leave again in around two weeks. This is how it's always been. Ever since they met each other, they would go out on hunts and adventures together. It was almost a routine by now.
But every once in a while, one of them would go on one alone. The other was never worried, because, well, they know each other. They're known as some of the strongest people in the area. Not only physically, but mentally too. They know when to draw the line. If something gets to harsh, or maybe too dangerous, they'll find another way. Simple.

But Techno has been gone for three weeks. Not just that, but he hadn't sent any messages to Philza.
They always make sure to keep in close contact to each other. That's what the jade necklaces were for. Before they went on their first hunt together, they stopped at the best craftsman and enchanter in town. There, they had Sam, (the owner of the shop) craft them matching jade amulets. It was a shell of pure jade, encasing a gold nugget. On those they could communicate from wherever. Whether it's the overworld, underworld (also known as the nether), the end, or just from across the house, they can always communicate.

But he hasn't. Philza has tried and tried to get ahold of him, but it seems like the connection had almost just disappeared.

Normally Philza wouldn't worry about Techno because, he's Technoblade. People everywhere know him as the "Blood God". He's safe in the nether. He had some of his own kind there. Brutes. They help and guide him when needed.

But right now, Philza is panicking.

He even said this would be a quick one before he left.
"I'm just going to get blaze rods Phil, I'll be back soon. This won't take long. I promise."
That's what he said. Word for Word.

So now Philza is pacing around in his bedroom, overthinking.
'This won't take long' my ass.
It's been weeks.
The only solution Philza can think of is to go and find him. I mean, what else would he do? He can't just sit around doing nothing when his lifelong friend could potentially be in danger.

He tried many more times to get ahold of his friend, but no luck.

He tried looking out the window for the millionth time, hoping he'll see techno waking over the hill. No luck.

He even tried asking other people int he area if they've seen him.

No luck.

So, he rounded up his tools, put on his armor, and headed for the portal.

He didn't really have much of a plan. He figured he would just follow the path they made years ago and followed every time they go and hoped Techno would be there.
So, with one last breath of fresh air, ash free, he closed his eyes and stepped through the purple portal hoping for the best.
