Chapter 5 - "Maybe"

Avneet's Pov:

"Are you done with everything?" I chirped at my bestfriend through phone.

"Yep, pretty much with every essential, but can we go shopping I still need to buy so many clothes" she said.

"Though I'm always down for it, you know that we are going to live there and it's not just a trip right?" I said confirming whether she still remembers it or not.

"Yes, but still..." She trailed off whining. I sighed.

"Fine, I'll pick you in half an hour?" I asked.

"Done" she almost screamed and I disconnected the call.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I quickly pulled my hairs from the messy bun and tied it into a ponytail. I removed my shorts and wore a ripped jeans, I didn't change my top since it was a hoodie, I loved it anyway.

I quickly put some sunscreen on myself, applied a lip balm, sprayed some perfume, took my shades and my scooty keys and went to pick up my bestfriend.

"C'mon kripa, pick anything up, don't act like there wont be any shops there" I whined at her, who was finding dresses through every corner of the shop.

"You don't know how to shop, shut up" she yelled and got back to her work wasting an another hour of us.

"Finally" I sighed lowly walking towards the billing after hours!

"I'm hungry" she whispered, I glared at her.

We walked towards the food court after billing. We didn't had much bags with us. We settled down, and I started looking at the menu.

"C'mon avu, order anything, I'm starving!" She whined.

"Shut up, you don't know how to order" I sarcastically smiled at her and she rolled her eyes.

I ordered two burgers and also cheese fries, with some Starbucks obviously, and finished our food chit chatting.

I stared at the photo in my hand, it was of a school picture! When I took part in the school parliament, and was one of minister. It was as a group photo of all the ministers. The thing that caught my eye was him, Siddharth!

I was standing at almost the end and he was in the middle, his face a wide grin, and his hands wrapped around a guy infront of him! I sighed! And kept it into my luggage bag!

I'm 17 now, well almost 18 as it is already May! Me and kripa got seats in a college of California! It was always our dream to study abroad! Which I regretted as soon as I entered my so called science stream! But yet, what's fulfilling your dreams in your comfort zone!

"Everything is ready, I am going to sleep bye!!" I messaged kripa and got under the sheets, my eyes closing, but my mind decided against it! I lightly chuckled.

Looking back all these years, school thing was the best, no matter how much we got punished, scolded! It was all good in the end, life becomes so difficult after it, already!

Yes! Too early to say this, but it's truth! Life was good when the problem was just about when will the school end! Talking about my so called highschool crush, he is still cute, and more hot now! And also, I've moved on from that!

We used talk, I'll not tell daily! But yes, we were pretty much close, still!? I don't think so! It was just until the school, then it was just birthday wishes, and how are yous!

"Happiest birthday Avu! Thanks for all those midnight jokes" he texted me on my last birthday! As funny as it sounds, I was a complete simp, for him, just him!!!
Maybe, I never stood a chance infront of him, maybe I was only a friend to him, maybe it was just me who dreamt of something more than friendship, or maybe it was just a crush!
