~Why Don't You Play?~

~Kise P.O.V.~

I walked with the guys as we continued to go get some food, not realizing that the two females had been left behind until I heard Midorimacchi say something.

"Where did Seiko go?" He questioned, a bit worriedly.

I raised my eyebrow and then looked around, noticing that she is no where to be found. Then noticing that Momoicchi has been gone as well when Aominecchi chimed in.

"Yeah, Satsuki is gone as well. I'll text her." He said to us all while pulling out his phone.

When Aominecchi checked his phone he had realized that he already received a text from Momoicchi.

"Oh she already text me. She said that her and Seiko are going to spend some time together." He told us.

We all then nodded and proceeded on our way. On the way we had a bunch of small talk just to catch up. It was nice, us all talking and hanging out. I can't believe that Aominecchi is now a police officer. Everyone else, I had kinda guessed they would do something like that. But something about him being a cop was so weird to me.

I guess I must have been staring at him while in thought because his voice brought me out of my daze.

"Oi, Kise. I know I'm handsome, but your staring is kinda freaking me out." He told me.

I quickly looked away and chuckled nervously.

"S- Sorry. I was just thinking. Why did you become a cop?" I questioned.

"Oh. I'm not sure. It never really use to interest me. But I started watching true crime shows and documentaries. And then it just became something I was interested in." He explained to me.

"Wow Daiki. I never would have expected you to be into crime. I thought you would have gone professional with your basketball career as I did." Akashicchi told him.

"It was a real waste of talent for you to become an officer." Midorimacchi chimed in, deciding to give his two cents.

"Yeah? And what about you and Kise and Muraskaibara!!? Why didn't you guys continue with your career? It's just as much a waste for you guys." Aominecchi huffed back, clearly offended.

"Well. I always enjoyed basketball, but I'm sure everyone knows that I've always had a passion for astrology. As for Kise and Murasakibara, I can not speak for." Midorimacchi shot back to him.

Aominecchi looked between me and Murasakibaracchi as if he was waiting for us to give an answer too. I was waiting for the purple haired man to go first but he didn't seem to get the hint, so I spoke ups

"Well, honestly Aominecchi. The only reason I ever played was because of you. You were my inspiration. I enjoyed playing basketball, but I didn't want to play if I couldn't play with you, or against you. You loved basketball. I was sure that you would have gone professional." I explained to him.

He seemed to be calmed down by my response. A soft smile was on his face.

"Ahh..." was all he said to me.

"And you Murasakibara?" He questioned.

The tall male looked at us. He just shrugged.

"I just wanted to make good food." He said as he pulled some sort of snack out of his pocket.

"You see Aomine... us three don't have the passion for it like you do. Or atleast did. So. Why DID you become a cop?" Midorimacchi asked him once more.

Aominecchi looked down and kicked a rock as we walked.

"I'm not sure. It was fun in highschool. Like very fun... atleast when I played against Kagami and Tetsu or one of you guys. Middle school was boring. We always won. I only had fun playing against all of you or Kagami and Tetsu. Otherwise, what was the point? I enjoy being a cop, and I have fun doing it." Aominecchi replied, kinda sad like.

The rest of us all looked at each other, not sure what to say. We all just nodded.

"So... anywa-" I started before cutting myself off by the sight of a red haired man walking out of an apartment complex. This must be where Kurokocchi and Kagamicchi live.

I could tell everyone else saw him as well.

"Kagami!" Aominecchi called for him.

We all saw his head shoot back at the sound of his name. His eyes were wide as he turned around and ran over to us.

"HEY!!" He said joyfully.

"What are you guys doing here?" He questioned.

"We all met up at the elementary school. Turns out Tetsuya has our kids in class." Akashicchi told him.

"Wow! That's awesome. You guys have kids now!?" He questioned.

"Yeah, we do. It's been a long time since we were all together like this. We were going to go eat and then maybe play a game or two. Want to join us?" Akashicchi invited.

"Of course. I was just about to go eat myself. I was going to go back to sleep since it's so early but it's hard to sleep without Kuroko home." He told us all.

That was so cute...

"Well that's great! Let's get going!" I cheered.

We all continued walking until we arrived at a small diner. I use to eat here all the time in middle school...

We walked in and took our seat before ordering. Looking at all of our plates, I could see nothing really has changed. We all got what we normally would have.

This felt so nice. But surreal at the same time...

"I'm done. Let's go play a game." Akashicchi hummed as he wiped his face with a napkin before standing up.

We all nodded in agreement. When we stood up, I noticed Murasakibaracchi put an arm around the short, pink haired boy. It brought a smile to my face. But also made me sad too. I've always wanted that with somebody.

I looked over to Aominecchi and I could tell by the expression on his face he felt the same way I did.

"You okay?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah.. just thinking." He told me.

"Abut your daughters mom?" I questioned.

He then looked at me with a very soft smile.

"Yeah... something like that..." he sighed and then started walking ahead of me.

I wonder what happened with Aominecchi and his ex. They must have ended terribly. He looked so sad...
