*Sean's POV*

I spent the day going in and out of meetings, suddenly, I got the urge to call Jane and ask about how she's doing but I figured she was busy or still mad at me after my words.

Man I really need to learn to control, process and express my emotions...

I took a look at my old calendar while clearing out my desk and drawers and noticed it was Matthew's birthday the next day, not that I cared, Dave marked it while we were dating, if you can even call it that.

I shudder just thinking about what it was like to be with him, his brother is lunatic, I hope Jane is okay and stays away from him.

After a full day at work I went back to my apartment, missing the feeling of staying home where Jane is.

I fell asleep thinking about how much I wanted to see her, maybe if I overwork for the next two weeks I can go back and stay with her for some time.

Suddenly, my phone started ringing, jolting me awake.

I quickly picked up, who is calling me in three in the morning?

"Hello?" I said, my voice strained.

"Sean?! Jane, she- she was stabbed, that asshole, Matt stabbed her and she's in a surgery room and I can't see her, he stabbed her stomach. I felt her die in my arms, she was so sad and helpless, god- I don't know what to do-"

Ethan was freaking out across the phone but my stopped working when he said she was stabbed.

It was my turn to freak out.

I felt my heart thunder out of my chest, my head started spinning and it was so light I felt like it was going to fall off, my ears started ringing and my vision kept losing focus.

"Hello? Sean? You have to come, what if she's forever gone?!" Ethan said between sobs.

Tears fell out of my eyes as I quickly mumbled out a reply I couldn't remember, I dialed my secretary and asked her to reserve me a plane back home, I didn't even pack anything as I wore some warm clothes and took my phone, charger and wallet with me.

A few hours of torture and anxiety later, I reached home and caught a cab to the hospital, rushing to the front desk after showing them my ID and telling them who I was looking for in that state of dread and paranoia.

Once I reached the operation room I saw Jane's friends pacing back and forth, tears running down their cheeks, their eyes were red and their lips trembled with each word they tried to mumble with their hoarse voices.

"Sean.." Ethan whispered, running at me and giving me a tight hug.

"I'm scared" he continued, making my tears well up with tears.

I hugged him back, crying into his shoulder. If it wasn't for my sister dying on the other side of those doors I would've been mad about him being slightly taller than me when I'm years older but that was the least of my concerns.

He let go, pushing his hair out of his face, something assume he did over and over again.

"I don't want Jane to leave, she- she's the best thing that ever happened to me, to us. I can't let her leave me like this, I didn't even tell her a lot of things I wanted to say, why did this have to happen to her" Corey said, struggling to keep his breath even between his sobs that managed to come out no matter how hard he tried to suppress them.

"Hello, I'm sorry but the staff are here to offer you water, crying for a long time while dehydrate your body so please make sure to take care of yourselves so that you can be healthy when your friend comes out. What would she say if she saw you guys not caring about your health?" one of the nurses said, giving us each a bottle of water.
