Two Weeks Later..

"An expedition?" Mikasa repeated surprised as she sat beside Levi on his sofa within his office in the main camp. He sat sideways as he normally did when reaching his paperwork and sick of sitting at his desk. 

"That's what Erwin said during the meeting after you left the room yesterday" Levi replied without much care, busy reading the long powergraphs filling the bit of paper in his hand. Information that he had to learn and soon know by heart for the expedition. 

"But isn't it still to soon, it's barely been a month since the fresh cadets arrived. They haven't finished the basics just yet" Mikasa frowned, glancing to the shorter captain and wondering if he thought this expedition was a good idea or not. 

"I agree, I think we should at least wait until next month before heading out of the walls with those snotty nose brats. But I'm not the commander and neither are you, we have our orders and they're orders we will follow. It's the life of a soldier after all" Levi replied calmly, his face still calm and his eyes still completely focused on the bit of paper making Mikasa still in aww over his multitasking skills. 

"I have both ears and eyes, just like you do. Stop looking at me like I've got dirt on my face" Levi sighed, getting fed up with her staring at him so much while he's trying to focus. 

"Sorry" Mikasa whispered, feeling a little embarrassed she was caught and quickly let her gaze fall to her crossed legged lap.

Levi just sighs, glancing from his work to her and wondering why she was in such a chatty mood today. Normally she'd be out trying to find work to do or visit her friends by "coincidence" whenever they were doing laps around the running field or caring for their horses. Levi and the other captains close to Mikasa had already be complained to by the soldiers training the fresh soldiers due to Mikasa distracting them or worse, joining them and making their spirits chipper as they ran while speaking with her. 

Of course, Levi just walks away since he isn't her father nor her brother. He held no legal power over her and Mikasa was smart enough to look after herself around camp. He also saw it a little sad that the soldiers in command won't just punish Mikasa straight out and go behind her back to her "family" instead. 

If they had a problem with Mikasa doing extra training by joining her friends on their last lap or two than they should say it to her face. 

If they were upset over the rest mood brightening up when spending time with her as they carry on caring for their horses and cleaning out the stables as a team, than make it clear to her not those around her. 

Mike and Hanji just found it funny that the other officers came "crying" to her so called "parents" to try and control her. No one could control Mikasa, if they couldn't control Levi than they had no chance controlling a mini teen version of him. 

Even Erwin sent anyone away that came to complain towards him for Mikasa joining her friends or chatting with them during their breaks between duties or training. In fact, she had full rights to speak with them if they were on break and had no reason to punished for it. 

"Did you do something?" Levi asked curiously, wondering if Mikasa was the problem or someone else. 

"No" Mikasa sighed as she rolled her eyes.
