[Y/n's pov]

I walk into the kitchen and answer the phone.
"Hey ma." I say, trying to be enthusiastic.
"Y/n!!! How's California?" "It's good, I'm having fun." I say, smiling even though she can't see me. "Ah, well I'm glad to hear! I just wanted to check up on you since you never called me or texted me when you landed." She says. "Oh shit, yea sorry about that. I completely forgot." "It's alright hun. Just make sure to check in with me." I can hear her smile as she speaks. "Yea of course. Hows dad?" "He's doing good! He's off at work right now, but he'll be back soon." She says. "Ahh ok. Well it was nice talking to you Ma, but I gotta go. Love you! I'll text you tomorrow." "Alright Y/n, love you too!" After she finishes talking, I hang up.
I walk over into the backyard again and see Hasan sitting on one of the lawn chairs. I go over and sit on the one next to him. "Hey, sorry about that." I say. He looks over at me and says, "Nah it's all good." Then goes back to looking at his phone. I sigh, looking over at him then speak up, "I uh should head back. I told Jaylen I'd be back around 10, and it's almost 11." "Oh. Yea, ok. I'll walk with you to the front." We both stand up and start walking to the front.
We get to my car and I turn around, pulling him into a hug. It takes him a second, but he puts his hands around my waist. "Thank you for coming by tonight. It means a lot, Y/n." He says. "Thank you for having me Hasan. It was amazing to see you again." His chin rests on top of my head and he hums. We stay like this for a few more seconds then I pull away. I look up at him once more, making eye contact. We both smile at each other. I begin to get into my car and before I fully shut my door I say bye to him. He says it back and I start up my car. Before backing out I wave at him, receiving one back.
After he see's I'm fully out of the driveway, he goes back inside.

[Hasan's pov]
I watch as she backs out of the driveway, waiting for her to leave. Once she's gone, I make my way inside. I go back out to the backyard, sitting on one of the lawn chairs and begin to think while looking up to the dark sky with glowing dots all over it.
I fucked up. I shouldn't have tried to kiss her. It's gonna fuck up our friendship, I know that.
And yet, I almost did. I'm just hoping that whatever happened there with us, doesn't interfere with our friendship.

[Y/n's pov]
I get back to Jaylens' apartment garage and park.
I make my way to the elevator and hit her floor number.
I walk in and am immediately greeted by lilac. I pick her up and make my way to Jays room. I see her passed out on the bed while a show of hers was playing on her tv. I look over to the the clock on her nightstand and see it's almost 12am. I put lilac on Jays bed and make head on over to the guest room where all my stuff is. I lay my suitcase down and open it, grabbing some pajamas, my toiletries, and my skincare stuff then go on over to the bathroom in the hall. I start to wash my face and I could help but think about what happened back at hasan's house.
We really almost kissed. Not going to lie, I wouldn't have minded it. But then at the same time, it does feel a little to sudden, doesn't it? I don't know. I can't think straight.

I get out of the bathroom and walk down the hall stopping at Jaylens room to see if she's awake. I see lilac on top of her stomach fast asleep. I pull my phone out, taking a picture then sending it to Jaylen. I smile at the two then go back into the guest room. I look up at the clock on the wall and it says 12:45am. Putting my phone on charge and doing the same with my watch, then getting in bed.

{3:24am}
I wake up in the middle of the night thinking it was morning. Getting up to open the blinds, I still see that it's dark out. I go over to the nightstand and tap my phone seeing the time. Fuck.
I lay down on the bed for the next hour or so not being able to sleep. I decide to get up and go to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water from the fridge. I lean against the counter as i drink my water as everything from last night floods my head all over again.
I do my hardest to ignore it and decide to go out for a drive. I go back to the guest room and grab a hoodie and my glasses as well as a hair tie.
I send Jaylen a quick text, grab my keys off the counter, then head out.
As I get into the parking garage I start my car using my keys.
I get it into my car and plug my phone into the aux. I play my driving playlist and start pulling out of my parking space.

{5:45am}
I find some random place higher up in the valley where it's quiet and no one but grass and dirt around. My cars still on playing music. I take a seat on the grass looking over at the view. You can see all of Los Angeles. All the city lights are on and some also on in buildings. It looks gorgeous.
I go over to the car unplugging my phone from the aux and bringing it back with me to my spot on the grass.
I open instagram and go to Hasan and I's dms. I hesitate at first, but decide to text him and ask for his number.

I send the text and turn my phone off turning my music back on.
Kilby Girl by The Backseat Lovers comes on as I press shuffle on my liked songs.
I sing along while looking at the view in front of me.

We're both throwing smoke into the night

There's a place down the road
We can waste the whole afternoon

I lay down as the music continues to play.

I over head that she was nineteen
With a fake ID and a nose ring
Those kind of girls tend to know things

And I'm dying to figure out what she's hiding

I softly sing along while looking at the sky.
I hear my phone go off and look at the notification.

i haven't been on wattpad in a hot minute so obviously haven't touched the book in a while. BUT I DID IT!!! CHAPTER 4 DONE!! :D
