It's been months since i've been back here and it feels nice to be back in somewhat sunny California.
if you're wondering why i'm here, it's because one of my best friends, Jaylen, had moved here a few weeks ago. she had bought a nice apartment with a gorgeous view of North Hollywood.

I make it to the apartment garage and park. I get out and lock my car then make my way to the elevator. Once I'm in the main lobby I make my way to the other elevator and press the 47th floor.
The elevator dings and I make my way to Jaylens' door.
I knock on the door and it doesn't take long for it to open. Once it's open there stands a 5'8 girl in sweatpants and a black t-shirt.
"Y/N?!" she screams. I laugh and say, "SURPRISE!" then jump on her into a hug as we both fall to the hard floor.
"BITCH?? WHEN? HOW? HELLO?" she says pulling out of our hug. i laugh and respond, " i was free for the next two weeks so i decided to come down and surprise you. and also cause i needed to get out of my apartment." just as i finish speaking, i feel something rub against the bottom of my foot. "LILAC!" i say a little to loud causing the cat to jump a bit. she meows in response and makes her way to my lap. " she still loves you." Jaylen says. i smile in response.
i look over to Jaylen who's now sprawled over on her floor and say, "get ready rat, we should go out for brunch." i earn an annoyed noise from her. "ugh fine."

"There you two go! enjoy." the waiter says smiling then walking away after Jaylen and I say thank you.
We, well I, found this nice brunch area in Hollywood near the walk of fame to eat.
"WAIT, don't touch it yet, i wanna take a photo." i say smiling. "fine, do it fast, i'm starving." she says with a sigh.
I take my phone out and go to instagram. I open the camera, take a video of me and Jaylen, add the location, then post it to my story. "okay, time to eat." I say looking up at her as she's already eating without me.

"I bet it's so nice to live alone. especially since you get to wake up to a beautiful view of North Hollywood." I say with a mouthful of food. "eh, it gets lonely. it's only been a few weeks and not gonna lie, i miss the loud sounds of New York. But time to time it's nice to have peace and have that independence." she says. "talking about New York, how are the others? i miss everyone so much. but honestly glad i moved out of that crammed house." she says as we both giggle. "everyones good! we all miss you, but Sadia the most. The bitch will not shut up about how she's 'third wheeling' with me and Shawn." i say laughing. "Shawn's gay tho?" "he is! but i don't know what's gotten into Sadia. she knows he is but continues to go on about her third wheeling." i say rolling my eyes, both of us laughing. "i miss her dumbass too man. i'll come and visit again soon. i have to." Jaylen says. "yea for sure, and i'll drag their asses here sometime too. neither of them have been here so it's gonna be interesting when the come." i say to her smiling.

After we finish our food, we walk around and do a bit of shopping. i snap some photos here and there to post later on.
we are now in my car ready to head back to her apartment. "gimme the aux bitch." she says. "i wasn't even using it but go for it." i say giggling.
i start the car and Jaylen starts playing music.
i recognize the beat of the song and look over to her, both of us smiling. our favorite song since we've been kids. Here's to Never Growing Up by Avril Lavigne.
The song lyrics start to come up as we both start screaming the lyrics;

I'm singing Radiohead at the top of our lungs
With the boom box blaring as we're falling in love
Got a bottle of whatever but it's gotten us drunk, singing heres to never growing up

We both jam out to the song on repeat til we get back to the apartment.
We get in, Lilac coming up to both of us meowing. I drop all of my bags to the couch and pick lilac up then walk to Jaylens room following behind her. "My legs are so sore oh my god." she says as she falls onto her bed. "What time is it?" 8 take my phone out my pocket and check, "8:55pm." I say. "You hungry? I could order food if you want." I ask her. "Not really, if you are go ahead and order whatever." "Do you want me to just order a large pizza then? We can share it." I say. She just nods. "Cheese?" "Yes ma'am" I smile at her then open up Doordash, ordering a large cheese pizza from some local place.
We wait for it to be delivered, it said 20-30 minutes.

I hear a knock on the door and get up to go get it. I grab the pizza from the man and put it on the kitchen counter for whenever either of us get hungry.

I walk back into her room and lay on her stomach. "pizzas here by the way." I say as she just nods. I pull my phone back out and go on instagram.
just as I get on I get a notification.

I stare at the little notification on the corner of the screen, surprised. I forgot about him. a man who was my best friend growing up. holy shit. do I open it? fuck it, I'm doing it.

here's part one of this story!! don't know where i'm going with this but honestly i like it so far. and sorry about it not being to long it's like 3am lol. but i hope you enjoyed!!:)
