“Promises are like babies: easy to make, hard to deliver.” ~Author Unknown
Leandro’s POV
The class suddenly fell silent when the adviser of the fifth grader section one came in. Silence was so deafening. No evidence of students running after each other over the sits and shouting out of their lungs while playing heaven and earth. The sits were aligned instantly just before the teacher came in. That’s our hidden talent. Sometimes we failed on exams and quizzes but we never failed in hiding the evidence of our little games inside the classroom.
I was busy counting my power ranger texts from under my armrest when Mrs. Robleza entered the room. I needed to because Jimmy, my seatmate was like Lupin stealing my texts when I’m not looking.
I heard my teacher mumbled something in front but my full attention was on my texts. I needed to collect more. The more I have them, the more respect I get from other boys around. That’s the unwritten rule in school.
I was in the middle of it when I heard a soft voice from the front. When I looked up, I saw a cute little girl wearing a denim jumper. My entire attention was suddenly shifted to her.
She’s standing in front of the class clutching her fingers together. I didn’t quite see her eyes because she’s looking at the floor. She’s mumbling something but I can’t figure out what because her voice was barely audible. And then she stopped.
She’s definitely nervous and I wanted to help her.
“What did you say, Jimmy?” My voice broke the deafening silence. Jimmy looked at me questioningly not quite sure what to say. “You said she’s cute?”
“No. I’m not.” Jimmy denied while shaking his head furiously. He’s blushing, which means he really finds her cute.
Finally, I saw her entire face when she looked up and gazed at me directly. She’s really cute. I gave her a wide grin and I earned a deep frown in return.
That day, I knew I made another enemy, a very cute one.
But I don’t care, I’m the first one she noticed and I’m sure she will never forget my handsome face.

“What are you doing here?” She hastily got up from the bed when I entered the room.
“The last time I checked, this is my room, so…”
“But you said you’ll sleep in the guest room.” She said in frustration.
“I changed my mind.” I threw myself on the bed and landed on the center with my arms spread across. She automatically scooted away, which made me chuckle.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Now she’s really irritated as evident by her high-pitched voice.
