With Vita Hex's defeat, the curse was broken. However, Briar Rose remained in a deep sleep on her bed, awaiting a true love's kiss.
By the time Richard and Julian arrived at the Rose Estate, Tobias and Iniid were beyond themselves. The day was spent, and soon Phillip would be on their doorstep. If Briar Rose were not present upon greeting him, the Spades would slaughter them all.
Ascending the stairs, Julian hurried into Briar Rose's room, staring upon her elegant figure once more. The white rose remained on her chest, and Julian clutched it in his hand as he approached the side of the bed, leaned forward, and kissed her soft, round lips.
Richard stood in the doorway, pinching the edges of his fedora. He held his breath in anticipation, but his fears were soon replaced with joy as Briar Rose's eyes slowly opened. The warmth returned to her face, and she smiled.
Iniid and Tobias entered the bedroom, and a tearful celebration commenced. Vita had been defeated, a daughter had awakened from a slumber, and a joint empire was born.
