XVIII. Fear

The car ride back was very awkward. we all sat in silence, not even the radio was turned on.

The vibes in the room were awkwardly painful and I could feel Anna's emotions all over the place.

ever since we got in she had her head looking at the window, under no circumstances she would turn her head to me.

I get it, she's upset about kitrill, we all are but she could at least look at me. Penny finally breaks the silence in the car.

"Can i ask, what tricks were you-" "Penny, please no." Averi shuts him up.

"What!? What if I wanted to try his tricks?" He exclaims "Im okay with vanilla sex when i am ready, thank you." Averi states.

"Please, i don't wanna hear about sex with you children." Anna grunts. "I've been eighteen for months, I'm no longer a child." Averi states

"yea, and I'm ABOUT to be 18 so shut it kink princess!" Penny exclaims. "PENNY!" Anna yells.

"How about we all make an agreement not to talk about each other's sex life,hm?" I suggest.

"Deal." They all said in unison. "So what now?" Averi asks. "We go home, we hide till we find a better plan and hope he doesn't kill us till then." Anna says. An awkward silence was placed into this car once again. We knew we failed, we were failures.

"I'm stopping in-and-out." Penny says after a sigh. "No time." Anna states "We haven't eaten since yesterday, Anna, if you starve us for any longer we're going to run out of TIME."

Penny snaps back Followed by another string of silence, Penny stops at the drive through. After everyone ordered, the car was parked and we all sat in the car eating our burgers.

"We need to kill that man, fast." I say. "Mom is gonna be all like 'i told you so.'" Penny mocks his mom "not if I don't give her a chance to speak." Anna says under her breath

"Why do you even hate her so much?" Penny asks. "I don't hate her."

"We forgot jaxson!" Averi suddenly burst out. "In the hotel room we forgot jaxson!" "Shit!" Anna curses. "He's probably long gone and escaped." I say, "that doesn't make it better." Penny shoots me a look.

"We need to go back for him!" Averi says. "No, we don't. Kitrill knows where we are now and he'll probably send your head flying off as soon as you walk in there." I say.

"He's right, if he dies in that closet he dies." Anna shrugs, "And if he escapes kitrill has more of a reason to hunt us down." Penny says. "Well we can't go back." Anna snaps.

"I don't want to die, Anna." Penny mutters. It was enough to turn her tables and make her go mad. She groans in anger and pushes the back of the driver's seat Penny was sitting in.

"Let me out!" She says"Calm the fuck down-"

"PENNY LET ME OUT." Her voice was clearly upset but sounded cold and harsh.Penny stops the car making the tires make a sound. "FINE."

She gets out immediately and of course like the dog I am, I follow her.In the middle of the street she starts j-walking on the highway.

I sigh deeply. A car was about to hit her before I used my tall frame to get the car's attention. "GET OUT THE FUCKING WAY FILTHY KIDS."

"HEY, FUCK YOU!" I yell back holding up my middle finger. All the rest of the cars honk and curse at us and she desperately walks to the sidewalk.

Once Penny realized she wasn't coming back he drove off. Now we were walking on the highway sidewalk.
