Room of Relics

Loki once again left the compound for some reason and left me with basically nothing but his room to clean. So once again, I was bored with only books to clench my thirst for something to do. It didn't last long, of course.

Then something poped into my mind, a very bad idea but I didn't care. The one thing that has always grabbed my attention, the Ironman suit. Tony said it was in his vault, and just how to access it.

I jumped out of bed and wrapped myself in a shawl to keep warm. Down to the kitchen and got a butter knife then tried to find my way to the Avengers hallway which the vault was next to, sort of.

It took me a while to find it but when I did I went straight down and found a huge door like Tony said, and it definitely looked like a vault. I jammed the knife in the door and pushed it, it didn't work. I tried again and again, but it didn't budge.

"Just a butter knife he said, it doesn't take much strength he said." I grumbled. Tony never said how much a butter knife will hurt your skin as it bends with your strength. "It's just a silly panel without Jarvis, nothing to worry about. I oughta shove this panel right up your- hisss."

The door panel flew open and the very dull butter knife, or maybe the door seemed to cut my hand.

"Easy." I quietly scoffed.

I looked at the keypad and slowly entered Ho Yinsen, it beeped then the door unlocked. I pulled the door open and stepped into a room that definitely didn't look like Tonys high secured suit storage. It was filled with trinkets and what looked like alien relics. There was a scepter that looked like it was missing something, a golden staff with spikes at the top, a blue glowing cube, a bright blue flower that was incased like the beauty in the beasts rose, a golden apple tree that was somehow still healthy, and an egg that was black with a simmering red to it.

Intrigued by the color-changing huge egg I walked towards it and picked it up. I twisted it and watched as its black scale-like pattern shimmered red before it went back to its dark black color.

The room started to get hot and the egg started to boil, I quickly placed it back down and moved away from it. The room became hotter and I started to sweat, clothes getting soaked in the process.

But that hell-like heated room ended as the egg cracked and I fainted.
——

Something crawling over me woke me up as it nipped at my skin. I opened my eyes and saw a small-scaled creature with wings. It almost looked like a baby...

No way, this is not a fantasy world, yet Loki and Thor from Asgard are real. But dragons, I must be mistaken.

"Hello, little one

"Hello, little one." It walked into my lap and nuzzled its nose into my stomach. "Where did you come from?" I scratched under its chin and it rubbed its head over my hand.

It screeched and climbed up my body to my shoulder.

I chuckled softly as it spread and flapped its wings. I looked around the room and saw the egg I once held split open. Realization hit me, the dragon came from that egg.

Are dragons like a bird, the first thing they lay eyes on is their mother? How did it even hatch? Loki is going to kill me if he finds out!

"Little one?" I said, It screeched. I sighed. "I'm in so much trouble." I stood up and placed the dragon back into the egg. "Stay." I ordered and it listened.

I backed out of the vault and began to shut the door, but I realized it's an animal and needs food or it will probably die in here alone. Coming back on a regular to feed it is probably not an option.

I sighed as I opened the door back up. "Come here." I patted my shoulder.

I was shocked to see it could already fly as it went right to my shoulder and nuzzled its head into mine.

"What shall I call you?" I walked out of the room and shut the door. "Are you a male or female? Can you even understand me?"

It screeched and speed its wings. I chuckled and walked back to my room obviously not straight away as I got lost.

I looked at his white scales and grey eyes and could only think of one name to match him. "How about Draco?" I chuckled. "Are you a male?" It flapped its wings. I smiled. "Does that mean yes?" It speeds its wings again. "Smart little Draco aren't you?" I scratched its chin.

It flew to my bed and circled till it laid down. I joined it but with a book.

"You are going to have to make sure you are quiet so no one knows you are here. And you must always stay in this room unless I take you out myself. Move your head up and down if you understand."

Draco then nodded his head. My eyes widen and I went to the book I was reading.

How smart are dragons? Omg, how big do they grow? And how fast? What do they eat, probably meat? I wonder if Loki has any books on dragons I could borrow.

I laughed at that idea.
Yea. Hey, Loki do you perhaps have any books on dragons, I have seemed to stumble upon one. He is going to kill me, isn't he?

The rest of the day the dragon sat on my lap as I read the book. Surprisingly the dragon was like a nice heating pad for the cold room.

"You must be hungry." I picked up Draco and set him in the bed. "Stay here and don't burn anything. I'll go get you food."

Draco nodded and curled back up. I smiled and walked to the door with my shawl wrapped around my shoulders.
