Chapter 3

Hate At First Sight

"Kreios, stop that!" someone exclaimed and the ball of fire immediately disappeared. Suddenly an electric shock formed around his head causing him to curse in pain.

"Shit! Stop this!" Kreios screamed while both of his hand held his head.

"You are such a pain in the ass, Kreios. Must you forget how many times you are reminded not to use your power against other people."

On the other hand, stood Kayella frozen and bewildered by what she just saw that she could not speak or even move.

"Head towards the infirmary, it won't stop if you continue releasing your power."

The mad man muttered a few curses before he vanished right in front of them. Did he just went invisible?! What on earth is going on?!

"Are you alright, Miss?"

Kayella was startled that she stepped backward before gazing at the man in front of her, the man could have been the same age as Dean Illyria and he seemed harmless.

"I am Duke Valentino from the House of , one of the faculties in the academy. And you are?"

A teacher, he's a teacher. Thank heavens!

"Miss, are you alright? Did that naughty boy hurt you?"

Kayella shook her head rapidly, "No sir, he just threatened me using the fire ball but he didn't hurt me." Or perhaps if you hadn't arrived early I'd become a toasted Earthbound.

Duke Valentino sighed in relief before massaging the bridge of his nose. He looked stressed and judging by the wrinkles on his face and the bags under his eyes, no doubt that he  really is.

"My apologies, Kreios is really known to be a rebel. By the way, you don't look familiar? Perhaps are you new here?"

Kayella nodded her head, "My name is Kayella, I came from the Kingdom of Tierra."

"Ah, you must be King Leonard's daughter? Welcome to La Academia de Sangre, Kayella."

"Thank you, sir."

"So Kayella, what is your birth power?"

"I don't have any birth power." Duke Valentino didn't seemed shocked but instead he smiled.

"Well, we're not sure of that. You are here in this academy for a reason, right?"

Before Kayella could answer a grey Siberian husky went towards them and started sniffing and barking at her.

"Ice, stop!" a voice exclaimed, few moments passed and a man came running.

He stops to breathe as he eyed them curiously before throwing a glance at Duke Valentino.

"Sir Val, what are you doing here? Have you seen Kreios?"

"He's in the infirmary, Lucaz." Duke Valentino said as he shook his head disapprovingly. "That kid, he's really stubborn. He is aware of the rules yet he still continues on breaking them. He even threatened Kayella."

Lucaz laughed, "My apologies, Kreios is really like that."

He patted Ice's head who still continues on sniffing at Kayella, "Stop it Ice, she's not Kreios." Lucaz said in a soft voice and the dog immediately followed. He must be a dog whisperer.

"Maybe he smelled Kreios at her. Kayella was almost crushed by Kreios earlier." And toasted...

Lucaz laughed again while looking at me. Am I your happy pill or something?

After saying goodbye to them, Kayella decided to go back to the dormitory.

She sat on her bed as she kept on thinking about what happened earlier. My first day here and someone already bullied me, great! I feel loved!

Those pair of alluring midnight black eyes and his dark red lips that seems to be a perfect fit to his paler complexion. He could pass as a prince charming, except for his rude attitude, of course.

"Kayella!"

Lost in her own thoughts that she did not even noticed that someone went inside her room.

"Kayella..."

"Journia..."

"You did not follow me, are you alright?"

"Well, if being saved from becoming a toasted Earthbound meant alright, yes I am alright."

"Did you just said toasted?!" She panicked.

"Yes..."

"So you already met Kreios?"

"Oh, he even gave me the warmest welcome I've ever experienced."

"Are...are you alright?"

"Sir Val came right before Kreios could turn me into a toasted human being."

"I'm sorry about that, it's your first day here and yet..." Journia sighed disapprovingly.

"Let's forget about those things, besides I'm not hurt."

"Are you sure? We can go to the infirmary if you want."

"I'm fine Snow..."

A loud knock came... "I'll open it, just rest for a while."

Moments later Journia came back, but this time she isn't alone.

"Sorry Kayella, I told him to go away but he won't listen." Kayella looked at the doorway and to her surprise, she saw the man that almost turned her to ashes.

"What are you doing here, Kreios?"

"We need to talk." His voice sounded like a command rather than a request.

"No!"

"I said..."

"Kreios, please let her rest."

"You are out of this Journia. Kayella we need to talk."

"No...I won't talk to you."

Kreios eyes darkened, "I said we need to talk."

"Get lost Kreios! I don't want to talk to you."

He stared at her, his eyes showing no emotion that you could not even guess what he was thinking.

"We're not yet done, Kayella."

After Kreios walked out of the room, Kayella released her breath that she didn't even realize she was holding.

"What was that?" Journia asked, confusion filled her face.

"I...I don't know."

"Why would he want to talk to me?"

"What do you think about him?"

"Seriously...do you really need to ask that question?"

"It's necessary."

"Why?"

"Kreios is your mate."
