Dear Master Diluc,

Don't be too surprised, as the letter is from I, your little brother Kaeya.

Please, before you decide to tear this letter apart, do finish reading this until the end. I believe you're not the person who would turn down a person in need of help, are you?

So here's the thing. I wanted to order a specific wine from Fontaine. Don't get me wrong, your wine will always have a special place in my heart, but this certain mission I am in requires me getting my hand onto those unique specialties from Fontaine. Alas, not many merchants got in contact with these Fontaine people, despite them being a high-tech nation, hehhe.

As the owner of the most successful Dawn Winery, I believe you wouldn't have any problem in purchasing them as a matter of business relations right? Moreover, they would even be so honoured to be contacted by the Master Diluc of Monstadt.

You don't have to think that you're helping the Knights, just think of it as helping an old friend, how about it? You know what, thinking back to those days, it's no wonder you are idolised by so many entrepreneurs; the skill runs in your blood, the heir of Ragnvindr. Your father must be very proud of you no doubt.

Oh, talking about the past, do you remember the time when you came home asking if I wanted a pet for my birthday? That was so sweet of you, little red Diluc. Now that you've grown up-you're still red either way, but for sure not so little anymore. In fact, you've grown stronger and braver than I thought you would. And I'm sure, you're much, much, much powerful than the last time our weapon clashed together.

Ahh, I was so cold that night, but you Diluc, was as hot as the fireplace we used to sit together waiting for your father to come back home. Even for a moment, I thought that maybe, I should just let go of my sword and embrace your warmth as you bolted towards me. But I know I shouldn't, and the fact that I need to fulfil my purpose as a knight, as your brother, and as the last survivor from my hometown just kept repeating on my head like an annoying broken record.

The next thing I remember, a sudden surge of frostbite crawled up my skin, that I almost thought I have died from the cold. But right after that, the frozen weather seemed to have blended with me and I had gained a sudden flow of energy to fight back, and that was when I cast my cryo skill towards you. I remember your eyes, they were blazing with both despair and desperation. You must have been so shocked, that you even paused for a moment to examine me.

Maybe I shouldn't have told you about myself, regarding my father and my purpose, so the fight will never take place, and we will never part ways. But then I would be living my whole life in utter regret, lying to my precious brother every second of my life.

I wouldn't like that, so I told you the truth. I don't want you to turn yourself to me, and pamper me like a little brother that you have always loved, not after father's death.

I don't want you to love a traitor. Maybe I should have just let you kill me that night so I wouldn't live through this guilt.

Maybe you're right. I might have been dwelling in the past too much, but what about you Diluc? If you weren't dwelling in the past you wouldn't be hating the Knights of Favonius too much until this day right? You wouldn't be hating me after so long if you had really put the incident behind you. So, say Diluc, aren't we one and the same? Our visions complement each other after all, that's what I heard people say.

I would always love a talk over a glass of wine, and the smell of Angel's Share is quite nice after a tiring day of work. However, if you would be so nice as to invite me to your personal habitat of Dawn Winery, I wouldn't dare to waste the rare chance from you.

Before I pen off, I really hope you would agree to my request on the matter at hand. I will sure to pay you handsomely for your cooperation.

With all due respect,

Sir Kaeya
