"I'm sorry Amy.."
I stood there in complete silence as sonic had just told me he was dating someone.I felt my heart breaking into a million pieces of sharp glass that were stabbing my legs.
"..."
"Amy? Are you okay?"
Nothing,I said nothing as tears started rolling down my face. I had a crush on him for so long and to hear this... it broke me.
Finally I responded back with:
"Sonic, no I'm not okay.."
"Listen Ames I know you loved me but I'm sorry I don't feel the same way. We can still be friends tho just please don't be mad.."
"Sonic I'm not mad I'm just heartbroken."
I replied sternly,I then realized how fake it sounded. Both of us just stood there in complete silence for knows how long.
When I broke the silence.
"Sonic I understand you love them and I'm okay with it. I'll stay your friend and not interfere with your relationship."
He stood there for a second looking completely shocked by my words. Did he expect me to yell and guilt trip him?
"Amy I- didn't expect your answer I thought you'd be angry.."
I shook my head
"Why would I be angry? You're not my property I don't control you. Yes I'm heartbroken that I'm not dating you but I can't control that."
As I said that he ran over to me and hugged me while mouthing the words "thank you". As we broke from the hug I decided to ask him something.
"May I ask who is the lucky person you're dating?"
As I said that he blushed red and stared at the ground looking like he was thinking of a answer.
"W-Well um I'm dating erm....knuckles"
He said finally which I was quit shocked at first but then I thought of past interactions between them.
"Knuckles? I guess I should've seen it coming. With him calling you 'Sapphire Blue'."
I teased which he responded with sticking out his tongue. I laughed at his childish response and realized he was happy with him.
"Oh shaddup I told him not to call me that in front of you guys!"
He then turned to the hills of green hill while scratching his head.
"Speaking of Knux...Ames can I ask a favor?"
I was quite surprised by his somewhat worried voice. I nodded in response to the request.
"Can you..not tell anyone about me and knux yet?"
"Huh? How so?"
I asked as I was surprised. He didn't want me to tell the others about him and knuckles?
"I'm...scared of how they'll react to it."
He said softly with a hint of worry in his voice. I guess he's worried about how they'll react to him dating a boy maybe.
"Okay I won't tell you have my word."
Sonic stared at me for a minute and then smiled while whipping his forehead.
"Thank you Ames I trust you."
I smiled knowing even if I'm heartbroken by the news I'll still support him as my friend.
