One was calm and peaceful.
The other seemed to be enthusiastic and passionate.
Hearing movements, Yan Cheng lifted his head up lazily from sitting on the chair and playing games.
This was the first time he had seen Chen Jinyao wearing a lab coat.
Or rather, this was the first time he had seen Chen Jinyao working.
When he just entered her office and passed by the treatment room, he paused there. The top half of the room was made from transparent glass. He stood there for a moment and narrowed his eyes as he stared at the scene inside for a bit.
The woman was half bent over, standing by the dental chair. The light shone on her face. She wore a faint blue medical mask with her eyes drooping. There were strands of baby hair on her face. It might be because she found it ticklish that she even slightly tilted her head. She rubbed her head against her shoulder. He found that action to be quite similar to Duni.
Just like admiring a silent show. There were clearly no voices, but it surprisingly caught Young Master Yan’s gaze, dissipating his annoyance.
For a very moment, he was shocked by Chen Jinyao’s gentleness and indifference.
Her lab coat was over her knees. When she wore it, it made her seem taller than usual.
Besides that, it also revealed another temperament.
She was always lazy and relaxed at home, curling herself into a ball. Now, from her every action, it revealed her skillfulness. Even her brows were mixed with a tint of indifference. It gave off a distant feeling, but made her more attractive.
He didn’t even feel the burn on his fingers when the cigarette scorched him. In the next second, Yan Sheng hissed in pain. He shifted his gaze to his hands and then he shook the cigarette, tossing it in a garbage can in the end.
By the time he looked up, Chen Jinyao had already walked to him.
“Why did you come?”
“…” Yan Sheng stifled a bit, but still lifted his noble head, sitting in a casual position. He slightly narrowed his eyes and asked, “Tch, hearing your tone, why do I feel like you don’t welcome me?”
Not only wasn’t she a bit surprised, she disliked him actually.
“You should at least run over and hug me passionately.” He seemingly laughed.
Chen Jinyao couldn’t help but roll her eyes. She looked at him like he was a mental case. “Stop playing around. Talk properly.”
The sunlight quietly penetrated through the window behind, shining on the green plants, eagerly bathing them in.
There was a faint cigarette smell in the air. Those that weren’t used to it found it quite stinky.
The two glanced at each other for a while, silent.
After a moment, Yan Cheng stood up from his chair and brushed his hair behind while he was at it. He lifted his chin, his black eyes carrying a tint of a smile. “What can I do? It’s lunchtime, no? I just want to eat lunch with you.”
Chen Jinyao lifted her eyes to look at Yan Cheng. She softly snorted.
He probably detected that Chen Jinyao acted two different ways when she was at home and when she was outside. Outside, she was overly indifferent. Yan Cheng leaned against the table, his slender and long legs were criss-crossed. He clenched his teeth, feeling discomfort. “You can’t act like this.”
“Act like what?” She picked up her teacup and went to pour a glass of warm water.
Silence filled the air momentarily.
Yan Cheng complained, “You should act a certain way for our marriage.”
He didn’t know how they got to this topic.
It might be because Chen Jinyao was too indifferent towards him, provoking him to become rebellious.
Then, because of his rebellious behavior, it led to this talk.
To speak the truth, he just wanted to change her attitude towards their marriage.
However, this explanation was really new and strange.
Especially when it came from Yan Cheng’s mouth. It was even more new and odd.
Chen Jinyao blew at the warm water in her teacup. She lifted her brows in interest.
