September 10, Friday.

[Third person]

Shadow sat absently at her desk, fidgeting with a loose key on her keyboard. She was on a zoom call with the rest of her class, doing online school since the pandemic started. She hated London. It was horrid, the water and air were badly polluted. The only good thing about London was... nevermind. There's nothing good about London. A discord notification distracted Shadow from her hatred over London. L3m0n: Class is boring- The text read. Shadow smiled looking at Lemon's smile in the class. Shadow kept her camera off because her room was a total mess, and usually stayed on mute. One time, she had a panic attack in class and no one knew. Wow. Shadow typed quickly: Shadow: Yeah, no kidding. She typed back, clicking enter after making sure everything was spelt right. L3m0n: You still have the zoom up right? Lemon asked. Shadow: Yeah. I've got a second monitor, remember? Shadow typed back, causing Lemon to give a derpy smile on camera. Lemon was able to keep her camera on because, unlike Shadows, her room was clean and tidy. Well, it looked like it anyway. Out of shot, the shelves were messy and unkempt, clothes were scattered around the closet and floor, her bed messy and unmade, and drawing materials were scattered along the desk, a few items even on the bookshelf. L3m0n: Yeah I remember. Lemon typed back. Shadow: Because you're jealous haha- Shadow responded, smiling to herself.

"Lemon?" The teacher's voice asked, causing my smile to fade. Lemon perked up, quickly, seeming startled. If she said anything, we wouldn't hear, as she was on mute. "What were you smiling about?" The teacher asked. Lemon started responding, still on mute. "You're on mute hunny." The teacher told Lemon. "Oh, sorry." Lemon's voice said as she un-muted. "My dad was just checking up on me." Lemon added a lie she used commonly, because it worked. "Oh, alright, make sure you're paying attention." The teacher said as Lemon muted. Shadow turned the volume on her PC down, as the teacher was far too loud. L3m0n: Lol- that was close. Lemon typed. Shadow: Shouldn't've been smiling, stupid- Shadow respond, playfully calling the younger a name. L3m0n: MEANIE!! I'm not talking to you anymore. >=[ Lemon responded, somehow managing to keep a straight face. Shadow, on the other hand, was laughing very hard. That laughing, turned into coughing, turned into struggling to breathe. She coughed a few more times, before taking a deep breath.

Quietly, Shadow wandered over to her window, closing it, then walking over to a tall fan, and turning it on. "That should keep the air moving." She muttered, stepping around clothes and dishes on the floor to sit back down at her desk. Shadow: Bro, you made me laugh, and then I started coughing, and then I almost died. Shadow said, updating Lemon. Shadow: Sad, but true story. She added with a smile. L3m0n: Not talking to you poop-head. Lemon replied. Shadow: Fine, poo-poo. Shadow responded. The day went by, Shadow hopping from one zoom class to another, not paying attention to any of the teachers, and finishing any work she needed to get done, which wasn't much. Something about "not overworking the students" and "it's already stressful enough". Because of this policy, attending zoom was just a waste of everyone's time.

That's a wrap for this chapter! Sorry it's short, it was just a building chapter and didn't have much to do with the story itself.

Update on my life:

It's thundering really bad right now, and it's so loud- I just hope I don't have an anxiety attack :[
