Of course, no crime goes without witnesses.

The windows logos the next day were all gathered at the kitchen table, eating breakfast. There was quite the chatter among them.

"You heard it too??" 1.0 said, taking a bite out of a banana.

"Yeah, but my ability to stay awake sucks ass. I fell back asleep soon after I heard it." 95 inquired.

"Language!" exclaimed XP.

"Ass isn't a bad word."

"What's an ass?"

Just then, Microsoft's door opened, and he stumbled out groggily, still wearing his sleeping robe.

"Oh- Hi dad!!" Said 1.0. "We were wondering if-"

"Ghhhold that thought." Grumbled Microsoft as he pulled himself over to the coffee maker, and turned it on.

XP remembered something. "Y'know... I haven't seen Longhorn today."

"You say that like it's a bad thing." Said 95.

"Shut up, he might be a bit unhinged but he's still our brother." XP exclaimed. "Micro, have you seen him?"

Microsoft lazily shifted his glance over to XP as the coffee maker started up. "No." was all he said.

1.0 started to get worried. "Wh-What if the screams we heard yesterday were linked with Longhorn?!"

Microsoft's eyes widened slightly. "Im sure they weren't... ill look for him in a second." Microsoft snatched his coffee mug and started chugging it.

"Wait, you heard them too?" XP asked.

"...Yeah. Who wouldn't."

95 was getting a tad bit suspicious, but he said nothing.

The search for Longhorn was a failure. They searched the entire house, even the outsides, and there was no sign of Longhorn. Microsoft seemed strangely okay with this, sipping on his coffee the entire time like he couldn't care less.

XP caught up with Microsoft. "Aren't you worried about him...?"

"No. He had it coming to him anyways, always getting into trouble."

XP was shocked at hearing this

XP was shocked at hearing this. A little frightened, too.

"...You good...?"

"*Better than ever.*"

Microsoft hastily walked out of the room after that, not saying another word. XP could have sworn he saw a gleam of genuine hatred in his eye.
