Friendly café
Christmas eve, ah another year, another lonely Christmas where I sit back, enjoy some hot chocolate and have a harry potter marathon. Sounds fun doesn't it. It would be if it weren't for the fact that I knew my "friends" were out partying and sharing gifts while I stay home pretending, I don't mind that I wasn't invited.
Just as the second movie ended, I realized I ran out of coffee so I went to my pot to make some more when I saw that I ran out. Just my luck, I was too lazy to go to the store just for some coffee I might as well just get Starbucks. So, getting up putting on my black hoodie and shoes, I head out to get some good ol dirty bean water. As I was walking down the road to my usual Starbucks, I noticed a small cute little shop which read "Friendly café"

I really wasn't sure what I was expecting when I saw "friendly café". The window on the side has big LGBT+ flags around it, and what looks like to be a sticker of a big cuddly bear. The inside was not much different, lots of "wholesome" decorations and people of the LGBT community all around. It looked pretty comfy, and everyone seemed to be friends inside. I guess I was staring too long outside the owner came out and asked me
"Hi, I'm Angie and this is the friendly café, it's quite small but everyone inside is lively and enjoying their time. Why don't you come in and have a drink?"
Welp might as well and I didn't have much a choice as she was walking back inside already so following inside, I saw a lot of people chatting, playing some video games, reading books...etc.
I felt a little out of place with so many people being so friendly to each other which I think is...well yeah, this place is called "Friendly café" what did I expect.
The owner, Angie, went behind the counter and I saw the menu and prices seemed pretty decent. Everything seemed to be Christmas theme, even the outfit everyone was wearing that I was the one that stood out from the crowd wearing all black hoodie, jeans and shoes.
While looking at the menu I glanced at Angie who was on her own. "You're not the actual owner, are you?"
She looked surprised I decided to talk and she blushed a little, "Um, no I'm not, my parents are but I'm just watching over it and my school friends are the baristas here."
I chuckled, "I'll have a large ice caramel macchiato please."
She raised an eyebrow, "Iced? In this weather?" I shrugged cause it was never really a problem to me.
"Well, if you say so, that'll be $4.95."
I handed her $5 and told her to keep the change and went to find a seat.

All the seats were pretty much occupied although there were some people looking at me curiously as if I was a friend or foe. I gave a little smile to everyone hoping they won't jump me although they all do seem quite...friendly. Wow friendly café filled with friendly people, shocker.
I was scrolling through my phone when a waiter walked up to me and handed me my drink.
"One iced caramel macchiato for you."
"Thanks Andy."
"How- how did you know my name?" he asked suspiciously.
I raised an eyebrow and pointed to his nametag with big letters spelling "ANDY"."Oh um." He blushed and gave a little chuckle. "Well enjoy your drink." And with that he left back to get other people's drinks.
I went back to my drinks and enjoy the lively environment of this small café.
