Look, I've been in this world for 18 whole years, and I have never been to a party; I wasn't sure what to expect. Sure, I've heard of all the drinking and dancing they do plus the...other stuff I rather not say but then again this is "Friendly café", there's no way it can be that chaotic.
It was about 10pm when I arrived at the cafe, the plan was too just have a party for 2 hours then we'll all go to the roof where we'll watch the fireworks to celebrate the new year. Music was blasting loudly through the café's speakers and a lot of people were dancing in the "dance floor" which is basically just the middle of the café. I saw wknd and Edge in the corner arguing about bananas. There was Sugar who was playing uno with Juno and Ariel chatting amongst themselves. Andy and Ukiyo were talking about some anime stuff that I'm not really into.
"Hey Stitch!!! Glad you could make it!" Andy shouted over the music, Ukiyo just waved at me then took out his phone to look at some webtoon, typical.
"Hey lads, how are you doing?"
"Pretty good, we were just chatting and wondering if we should go for a dance, but Ukiyo would rather stay here in the corner."
"Aw it's ok Uki. Andy you can go dance, I'll keep Ukiyo company." Andy sighed in defeat and left to dance.
"So," Ukiyo decided to speak up, "where's your date hmm?"
I blushed deep red "First off, it is not a date. Secondly, I don't know where she is."
Ukiyo hummed in disbelief, and I wanted to shut him up so bad.
And that's when she decided to show up...I couldn't think of anything else except for how beautiful she looked with a nice simple flower dress and jeans. She walked in and looked straight at me, and I couldn't remember how to breathe.
"Hey Olivia, you look...beautiful."
"Thanks, you look great as well." She smiled at me.
Her smile was so cute I grinned back. Ukiyo seemed to have run off to some other corner, so Olivia and I were just alone.
"So..." I said shyly.
She nudged my shoulder and tried to tell me to relax a little but it's a little hard when this was my first party.
"Come on." She took my hand and dragged me into the dance floor and started movie around. I wasn't sure what to do with my body, I have no idea how to dance and when I do try, I end up looking like a flailing fish.
"Scared?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
She started dancing around wildly having a fun time, she looked so happy I joined in thinking screw it, everyone knows each other here, and as long as I'm with my friends and having fun, I don't care how I dance.
We started jumping along to the beat and just partying wildly having a great time.
When it was time for the new year's fireworks, everyone else ran to head to the roof but Olivia and I walked behind slowly. I tried not to think about how our hands were intertwined or how warm her hand was.
The roof was a little calmer than when we were downstairs. Looking around at all the people I've met in the past week, it almost made me cry.
"Ready for the countdown everyone!" Angie shouted.
"Hey." Olivia nudged me.
"Hey, what's up?"

"So, you know how most people has new years kiss?" She asked softly.
9
"Yeah so?" I raised an eyebrow wondering where she was going with this.
8
"Well, what if we...you know?" She looked away blushing so red like an apple I thought it was cute.
7
"Well, can't say I'd complain."
6
"Oh?" She looked at me hopeful.
5
"Yeah."

She faced towards me and brushed her hand against my cheek while the other hand cupped my shoulder blade.

I watched her slowly as I circled my arms around her waist and pulled her in closer.

Our noses were touching at this point and...

The fireworks exploded beautifully but the only thing I was paying attention to was how Olivia's lips were on mine and gods I loved it.
We pulled away just enough for our foreheads to keep touching, I wanted to stay in this moment forever content.
"Happy new year Stitch." She whispered.
"It's Josh, by the way." The way she looked when she heard was so funny, I had to laugh.
"Stop laughing!" She glared at me, but she was smiling so wildly.
"Make me." I said smugly, I think you know where I was going with this, and it worked.
She kissed me, hard. We were both gasping when we pulled away grinning so hard.
"Well then, happy new year, Josh."
"Happy new year Olivia."
