"How did we end up like this, Jungie?" Jiyeon asks Eunjung with a teary eyes.
"I'm sorry. I just need time to think"
"Think about what?! What's wrong with us?"
"Everything is wrong in us. I'm getting tired of your endless jealousy and nagging at me. You've changed so much, Jiyeonie"
"Because you've changed too. Eversince we came here in Seoul, you're always busy. I rarely see you at home, you never spend your time with me even on your rest day. You're always on that Gyuri's place!"
"There! That's what causing us our problem. You're accusing me again that I have something with Gyuri. I told you, she's just a colleague and she's helping me adjusting to this new work but you're always making this a big deal"
"Because you always spend time with her rather than me. I'm your girlfriend but why do I feel that I'm begging attention from you?"
"I'm doing this for us. I'm working hard for our future"
"You know I don't need a lot of things. I'm a simple person"
"That's you but that's not me. I want everything for us. I'm dreaming big for us. I don't wanna go back in there and hear that you'll never have a future with me. I'm gonna proved them wrong!"
"You and your pride! Who cares what people say about us? About you? I choose you because I love you. I don't care what people say, all I care is that I get to be with you. Can we just live simply and be happy?" Jiyeon asks Eunjung
Eunjung then turned silent. After a few minutes, Jiyeon stand up from the bed.
"You don't have to go, I'll go. Maybe you're right, we need a time apart from each other. You need time to think if it's still me that you want. If it's for me why you're doing all of this because honestly, I just want to live a simple and happy life with you. It's just you that I want from then and I know it's still the thing that I want in the future" Jiyeon said before leaving the room.
Eunjung punch the wall in anger to herself. She's angry at herself for being too stubborn. She knows that it's her fault, she's neglecting Jiyeon this much because she's working too hard to achieved her goals fast. Jiyeon's family is pressuring her, using their connections to block her from getting a good job. Only Gyuri is the one brave enough to hire her despite of it. She knows Gyuri has a thing for her and Jiyeon is right to feel jealous at her but for Eunjung, she doesn't consider Gyuri as a girl who would replace Jiyeon. No one can replace Jiyeon in her life that's why she's working this hard just to not lose her. She loves Jiyeon so much and she doesn't know if she can survive without her. Few minutes have passed, her phone rang. It was Gyuri. She lazily answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hey, are you busy?"
"I can't talk right now, Gyuri"
"Why? Is Jiyeon there?"
"No. She left me"
"Huh?! Wae?"
"We had a misunderstanding"
"Is it because of me?"
Eunjung didn't answer and Gyuri knows she's right.
"Look, Eunjung. It's not a secret that I like you but it doesn't mean that I'm taking this opportunity to get you. I get it, you love Jiyeon and vice versa. I'm contented to be your friend ok?"
Eunjung didn't answer and just let out a sigh.
"Is it about her family pressuring you again?"
"That and everything else"
"Tell you what, how about you and Jiyeon get away from here?"
"Huh?! What do you mean?"
"We have an opening in the US next month and I guess it's a good opportunity for you to take the position there as the manager"
"Seriously?!" Eunjung asks feeling anxious.
"Yes! I think this is the right time to ask you this. Do you want to be our branch manager in there?"
"Sure. Of course!"
"Okay. Let's settle everything tomorrow morning in the office okay? And please get Jiyeon back. You sound so miserable a few minutes ago"
"Thank you! Jeongmal!"
"You're welcome. Let's just meet tomorrow at the office, arasso?!"
"Yeah. Thank you again!"
When they end up the call, Eunjung hurriedly pick up her keys and drive her car. She needs to find Jiyeon, she look at the app for Jiyeon's location and it says she's in a park. She went to the grocery store first to buy an ice cream then went to her. She saw Jiyeon's wiping her tears while sitting in a bench. She felt angry at herself for hurting Jiyeon once again. She silently walked up to her and hand her the ice cream.
"I'm sorry, Yeonie" Eunjung said while handing out the ice cream.
Jiyeon ignore it and look away.
"I'm sorry for hurting you again. I know it's my fault but please let me explain"
Jiyeon look at her but didn't say a word. She sat next to her and let out a sigh.
"To tell you honestly, you have every reason to be mad at me. Remember when we get here? I had a hard time getting a job right? It came to my knowledge that you're family is using their connections to do that. No one would hire me, it's their way for you to go back at them without us knowing"
"What?! Is it true?"
"Yes. Gyuri said it to me, she was offered a partnership with your family's company if she rejected me too but she didn't. She got curious on why they would do that so she hired me and I worked so hard for that opportunity that she gave to me. I want to prove that she made the right decision for hiring me and because of that I didn't realize that I'm losing you slowly. I'm sorry, Jiyeonie. I really didn't mean what I said earlier. Even I want a simple and happy life with you but I won't achieved it if your family is doing everything to keep me from you"
"Omo, I'm sorry Jungie. I didn't know" Jiyeon said to her.
Eunjung looked at Jiyeon and she gave her a light smile.
"It's okay, it's my fault anyway. Here" she said then gave her the ice cream.
Jiyeon slowly took it from her.
"Can you forgive me for being a pain in the ass lately?" Eunjung asks while looking at her.
Jiyeon nod while having tears on her eyes. She didn't know that Eunjung's been through a lot because of her family. She's been working tirelessly just to keep her and prove to her family that they really do belong to each other.
"Gyuri called me earlier after you left. She admitted that she likes me" Eunjung said to Jiyeon that the latter gave her a hit on her shoulder.
"Ouch!"
"And then what did you say? Are you two getting it on behind my back?" Jiyeon annoyingly asks her then gave her a glare.
Eunjung laugh at her then hug her beautiful girlfriend.
"Ani. Listen first okay?"
"Hmmmp!"
"She said she likes me but she knows I belong to you and she knows I'm a miserable person without you because all the people know that you're my other half. Without you, I won't last a day"
"Jinjja? You really mean it?" Jiyeon asks innocently while looking at Eunjung
Eunjung smile and gave her a light kiss in the lips.
"Yes. You are my Yeonie. My one and only. My everything. I'm doing all of this for us and I'll give everything just to keep you"
"I know and I love you for that. I'm sorry if I can't control my jealousy most of time"
"It's because you love me that much"
"Yes. I love you so much that I get mad you're spending most of your time with that Gyuri girl than me!"
Eunjung laugh seeing her pouting cutely
"Mianhae. Let's go back to Gyuri"
"Why? Do you like her now?"
"Hmmm... Maybe" Eunjung answer teasing Jiyeon and the latter pinch her side.
"Yah!"
"Hahahahaha... I'm just joking!"
Jiyeon gave her a glare.
"But seriously, she offered something to me"
"What is it?"
"She offered me a job in the US to be their new branch manager in there. She said maybe it's a chance for us to get a way from all the drama from your family. The farther we are, the harder they'll have a chance to separate us" Eunjung said to Jiyeon that makes her wide eyes open in surprise
"Jinjja?!"
"Yeah. So what do you say?"
"I'll go wherever you go, Jungie. Maybe it's the fresh start that we really need"
"That's what I thought so that's why I immediately accepted her offer"
Jiyeon gave Eunjung a kiss because of the overwhelming happiness. When she came here in the park, she thought that they're really gonna split up.
"I love you so much baby. I can't lose you"
"The same goes for me so when you're having a problem, don't keep it to yourself. Let's talk about it and solve it together, arasso? Don't keep thing from me especially if you're having troubles because of my family. I've chosen you and I will always stand by you. I love you so much, Jungie. Keep in mind that I will always choose you"
"I know and I'm sorry. From now on, I won't keep anything from you. It's really you that I want until the end me" Eunjung said while hugging Jiyeon.
The two of them eat the ice cream at park while watching the beautiful moon shining at the sky. They just sat there silently feeling each other's breathing while holding each other. They really hope it's the start of something good for them.
