Unfortunately, the decision of when to have this conversation with Justin was made for me, all my plans went out the window when I got out of the shower one day and heard Asher talking to a voice all too familiar.
3rd Person POV *approx. 20 minutes ago*
Today started out like any other day in the Dyne-Hudson household, Addison got breakfast ready for two of her favourite boys while Asher spent time with Kaden.
Unfortunately for them, their peaceful morning was about to come to a screeching halt.
Like most days, Miles opens the Bakery so Addison can spend more time with Kaden in the mornings, only today Asher had the night shift so Kaden was staying home with him.
After everyone's breakfast plates were practically licked clean, Asher takes over dish duty.
I don't know how I got so lucky, Addison wonders, Asher is honestly one of the best things to happen to me and Kaden, who knows where we would be right now without him.
As Asher finishes up with the dishes, Addison gets up and moves Kaden from his seat to the playpen in the joined living room; turning the tv on to one of his education shows until Asher can get to him.
"Ash I'm gonna take a quick shower, Kaden's just in his playpen." She walks back towards him from the living room.
"Yeah no problem, I'm just about done with the dishes anyways." He turns towards her, drying his hands on a dishtowel. They flash each other a smile before Addison heads to shower and Asher to probably the only baby he'll ever like being around.
Being an only child coming from a small family, there were never many children around so Asher grew to not be so fond of babies or kids in general.
But this little one has grown on him, probably because Kaden is a generally quiet and simple child, anything different and Asher just might have a different opinion.
Just upstairs, Addison is hopping in her hot shower going over her plan to speak to Justin. A few days after dinner with her parents, she called Nicole and told her she would be willing to speak to Justin on her terms only.
She would call him, set up a time and place, talk about what we need to talk about, and go from there.
Unfortunately, she is too deep in thought to hear the doorbell ring.
The bell rings as Asher is playing 'airplane' with Kaden; Addison hates that game but Kaden loves being tossed around, feeling like he can fly.
"Sorry Buddy gotta put the game on pause for a second." He places Kaden on his hip and walks to the front. Asher smiles at the curious look on his face and boops his nose before reaching for the knob.
Justin knew he should've waited, but hearing his mom say Addison actually wants to talk to him made his heart soar. It was like he was being controlled by some outer force, compelling him to drive to her house and see her.
Justin was able to find Addison's address from Nicole's address book but was surprised to see it wasn't the apartment he left her in but a semi-detached house.
His nerves began to grow as he pulled onto what he hoped was her street, and they almost tripled when he pulled into the driveway of the address. He takes a few deep breaths before stepping out of the car and making his way onto the front porch.
Justin doesn't give himself to rethink his actions as rings the doorbell and takes a small step back. After a while of no response, he's about to knock again until he hears footsteps coming and prepares himself to see the woman he fell in love with.
