chapter two.
the show was on, luckily i didn't have to initiate anything. ashido was stringing me along when kirishima bumped into my shoulder. "hey, watch where you're going, please!" ashido commented and kirishima looked back to apologize.
"ayatsuri...? oh my god, is that you?"
mina looked between us, perplexed. "you two know each other?"
"eijiro?" i quickly wrapped my arms around his shoulders, encasing him in a hug. "you dyed your hair!" i acknowledged, him holding my waist tightly, as if it had been years since we'd seen each other last.
"it's been so long, i missed you so much!" he exclaimed. "i thought i'd never see you again."
we let each other go and i turned to ashido. "ashido, this is eijiro kirishima, we were best friends when we were little kids," i explained.
kirishima cut in, "mina and i went to middle school together!"
"oh i see! reunions all over the place then," i commented. he should have mentioned that beforehand. this better not get in the way of things.
ashido looked a little lost, "how come you never mentioned y/n, kirishima?"
"well ayatsuri moved away when we were really little, and she was my best friend. i guess i was upset about it, didn't like talking about it, ya'know?"
ashido nodded, "yeah, that makes sense! well i'm glad we can all be friends now!"
___
we were in class now, i was seated in about the center of everything. kirishima was making friends, he was good at that. ashido was socializing with the other girls in the room. i was enjoying the peace and quiet until a blue haired boy with glasses started yelling at the people with their feet on desks, sitting on top of them, and so on. he was annoying. he had a very booming projecting voice, and it was too much mixed in with all the other noises going on in the room. he moved in such an animated way, almost like a cartoon character.
"hey, hot stuff! i'm kaminari, but you can call me yours," a boy stood in front of me and gave me a finger gun, winking. bright yellow hair, a black streak within it, energetic yellow eyes. he was hyper.
i put on a smile, "y/n ayatsuri, it's nice to meet you."
"i don't think i noticed you at the entrance exams, we must've been in different sections! whole name's denki kaminari, nice to meet you too."
he was a spazz. draining. there was so much energy bottled up in his body that i could feel it pouring off of him.
kaminari seemed to notice i was in thought for a moment, "are you feeling a spark between us? because i sure am." another wink.
"in your dreams. your quirk. it's electricity." i commented.
he looked shocked, amused. "whoa! how did you figure that out? i didn't even have to show off or anything!"
"i can feel it radiating off of you, like there's a field of charge surrounding your whole body. i could feel it as soon as you approached me."
he groaned and threw his head back, "man, i thought that was just the electricity between us!" he whined, eliciting a small grin from me.
he was funny, energetic, but: he lacks focus, observational skills, we aren't here to make friends. we're here to become heroes, well, they are. they should at least act like they're prepared to become pros.
kirishima looked over to me, and nodded subtly to himself, assuring that he was glad i wasn't as stubborn with others like i was to him.
a boy with half white hair and half red walked in. now he was pro material. my face hardened as i watched him walk to a seat in the back. he was someone i needed to befriend.
