The author's like all of a sudden, "Ooh! I'm going to write a story about a suicidal girl who gets beaten up!"

Reality check: things like this don't happen in real life.
These bullying fanfictions are way over the line. I mean, how in the world do these bullies get away with all this stuff without anybody noticing? Where are the teachers? Where's the principal? WHAT ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE IN THE HALLWAY WATCHING THE GIRL GET BEAT TO DEATH?
Here's the most common storyline:
Girl gets bullied by this super hot, bad boy kind of guy, or she's bullied by a group of "populars".
This girl also just happens to get abused at home and is suicidal.
She tries to commit suicide in public, and one of her bullies sees and takes pity on her and falls in love with her at that exact moment.
Starts dating the guy she's apparently always had a crush on a day after, even though he bullied her.
Sappy love story blah blah blah
Isn't falling in love with your abuser like Stockholm Syndrome or something?
