"Damn it!" I screamed as my simple Walmart bought sundress continued to fall from my bony structure. My little sister rushed up with a glass of water and I chugged it down.
"Claudia," the Queen tsked and pinned the dress to fit around her shoulders and over sized stomach. "Are you ready?" her bright eyes were burning into mine.
"Of course she is!" mother smiled, wrapping her arms around me so she could support me.
I glared, "Yes I am," I said after seeing the expression on my little sister's face behind the Queen. "All this standing it tiring me out, I won't be able to do the ritual if we don't start soon."
Pausing a moment, I wrapped my arm around mother and we walked toward the giant oak doors. From there, the King and father lifted me so I appeared to be walking but if you looked close enough, my feet didn't even touch the marble floors. Sara stood anxiously in the grass just outside of the castle watching Tucker tap his foot, Benvolio grin stupidly, and our mother rush to stand in the circle.
"Here papa," Sara heasitated. "King," she nearly snarled. She rushed over to me and held me up, walking me the short distance to Tucker.
"Thank you Sara," my finger's slipped through Sara's identical long dark hair before getting close to her ear. "You'll make a wonderful bride too someday," I whispered and looked into her eyes. "You're going to be so much more than I darling."
A smile played at her small lips, "You'll make a wonderful Luna and mother," Sara grinned, leaving me confused as she rushed away to rejoin the circle.
Tucker held me tight against him as the portion of the pack here rotated clockwise. The ceremony was beginning and the air became thick. Slowly, energy was getting drawn towards Tucker and I. The members in the circle began to shift. They started to howl a rhythmic song as they began to run the circle. Something immediately felt wrong. I saw Sara's worry written in her face when Tucker and I spontaneously shifted.
The ceremony stopped abruptly and Sara shifted back, running to Me. I snapped and growled at her and Tucker howled in rage. We weren't in control anymore. The King stepped forward with a strong yet worried expression, but there was something hidden under that. Tucker stepped down for a moment.
'Something went wrong they're-' The King started to say in the mind link to the pack.
'Completely wolf!' mother shouted in horror.
'I-' father was lost of words.
'Her baby,' Sara whispered and she felt all eyes on her. 'Is it..?'
'I guess we'll have to wait to find out?' The Queen stated with worry leaked into her voice. She sounded as if she were a fine actress. 'I guess this was a bad time to say-'
'They were the next Royals weren't they?' Sara interrupted and Tucker howled, eyes wandering to him. I had suddenly collapsed and was painting furiously. "The moment of truth," Sara said aloud, walking towards me.
Tucker lunged and father held him down. Sara lightly touched me and I whimpered. It felt as if she could feel my pain, my worry, and the little bit of lasting humanness leaving me. I began to worry. What if I can't ever change back? What if my baby is- Sara had tears pouring from her eyes as her delicate face was the last thing I saw.
