When the dancing began, I sat and observed my families and friends all happy and celebrating together. I saw the way Juliet and Twilah snuggled up to their dad, playing with he buttons on his shirt and how happy they were to be with him. I saw the happiness like a ray of light radiate in the couple as they kissed their first married kiss.

People do funny things in moments like this; they laugh, they cry, they scream

and they freak out, all in the love of the persons they're celebrating. But I sit and savor the moment, wanting to remember every moment because this will never be duplicated. It can never happen again like this and I couldn't be happier.

"May I have this dance, my Queen?" my thoughts are interrupted by the groom, Benvolieo.

I smile, "Of course," he takes my hand in his and we swiftly swirl onto the dance floor.

"Thank you," he whispers to me as the world seems to drift away and leaves only us to dance.

"Making this turn out so perfect wasn't a big deal," I say honestly.

He chuckles and shakes his head. "Mm no, well yes thank you for this C, but thats not what I meant."

Confused, I slightly cock my head. "What do you mean? Making you beta?"

He took my face in his hands and we stopped dancing. His eyes held so much in them. "Claudia, we've dated for years and have been friends for even longer. You've showed me so many things, including how to love. I just want you to know you'll always have your own spot in mind and heart and you won't be leaving. I'll always love you truly, madly and deeply and that'll never go away. I can't say I wasn't sad we weren't mates but I'm so glad you have two of you here and I can't say there isn't anything better than Twilah and Juliet being born to you and Tuck. They couldn't have better parents," he said honestly.

I gripped his wrists and started to speak, a tear dripping down my cheek and he interrupted me. "It hurts.. No KILLS me to say this after so much you've done for me-"

"Ben-" I say quietly, not trusting my voice.

"Claudia. I can't accept being your beta. I can't accept being in this pack right now. I think I need a break from you and this life-" he paused when the first sob erupted from my chest. He pulled me in and held me against his chest and I breathed in his scent, trying to memorize it. "I'll come back to you, don't worry love. I just need to try to forget you or else I can't be truly happy," he sighed. "This is so hard!" he pulled away and looked at me again. "I love you Claudia, but the memories of being with you will keep haunting me and prevent Felicia and I from starting our own life. I promise I'll come back."

I bit my lip and held back the tears, squeezing my eyes shut, letting go of him and clenching my fists. I opened my eyes and looked into his brown eyes. "Go. I love you so much.. Just go." I said, forcing a smile. I knew it was time and I had to accept it.

He turned and waved, servants heading out with bags and he kissed my forehead before he wrapped his arms around Felicia and they walked out.

Normally a girl married and with children wouldn't openly admit she loved another, or would even let him go but I.. I wouldn't have it any other way.
