Finally, delivering the final blow, Muzan fell on the ground, greeting his teeth because of the immense pain he's suffering right now. It was the same pain he felt Yorichi inflicted on him.

As the demon lord's body slowly crumble into pieces, a limping girl stood in front of him with nothing but hatred glistened on her dark ocean eyes.

"This is not the last time you will see me, Hikari" Muzan spoke as he completely vanished from the hashira's eyes.

The girl named Hikari released a tired sigh as she staggered a little because of the pain slowly covering her whole body. But nothing beats the pain her heart dealing right now just by thinking about all the lives that were sacrificed.

As she exhaustingly slumped on the ground, holding her wounded stomach, feeling dizziness as blood trickled on her head, she unconsciously closed her eyes and laid beside the crater that muzan has created.

Hearing a couple of footsteps approaching, Hakari opened her eyes and was greeted by worriedly looking Tanjiro, Inuoske, and Zenitsu with Nezuko trailing behind them.

She softly smiled at them as she focused her eyes in front of her, watching the sun rises as the rays hit her, feeling the warmness that it brought.

"Hikari-nee!/Hoshiri-nee!"

The four kids shouted with Inouske mispronouncing hakari's name. They crouch in front of her and tanjiro held her hand, rubbing it gently.

"I'm glad you are all okay..."

The girl paused for a moment, trying to surpass the pain she's feeling right now. Finally feeling her body going numb and her throat getting dry, Hikari released a small sigh and looked at the kids.

"Please take care of each other, okay? Because I'm not going to be with you guys from now on" Hikari said, warm tears brimming in the corner of her eyes.

"No! I'll call Yushiro to help you Hikari-nee so please don't say such a thing!"

Zenitsu was about to stand up but hakari stop him by grabbing his wrist, as Inouske glared at Hikari with tears streaming down on his pretty face.

"You can't die Hakiro! You haven't fought me yet!"

"Please Hikari-nee hang in there!" Tanjiro sprinted and was heading towards where yushiro was.

But Hikari just chuckled as blood sprouted from her mouth making Nezuko panicky move closer to her.

"It's no use... I'm gonna die sooner or later so please stop... Tanjiro"

Which the burgundy-haired boy unconsciously stop and tried to wipe the tears streaming from his eyes.

"You said that won't leave us Hikari-nee, so why are you saying goodbye"

Hikari reached for Tanjiro's hand, gently rubbing it, comforting the boy.

"I- I can't do that Tanjiro... My life has already been decided. I'm already happy to leave, knowing that you all will be living in a world where demons don't exist anymore..." She breathed out heavily, as she felt her breath running out.

Nezuko gently laid Hikari's head on her lap, stroking her hair.

"Hikari-nee... I'm back... Y- you can peacefully rest now with the others"

The former demoness tried to hold back her tears but eventually failed to do so. Hikari was one of the hashira who fought for her to the others.

"I'm glad you're back Nezuko... look after these dorks for me, okay? Tell Sanemi, Giyu, and Uzui my goodbyes. Tell them that I'm sorry for not protecting the others and Oyakata-sama's family. I- I'm really sorry for not doing my best"

Chocking a little on her last sentence, Nezuko wiped the tears finally streaming down on the dying hashira's face. Even if she doesn't open about it, the young demon slayers knew how much guilt Hikari was carrying this whole time.

"I guess this is it. I'll be taking my leave now, Tanjiro. I'm glad I got to know all of you"

Feeling her consciousness fading, Hikari glanced one last time to the sun as an imaged of her former teacher appeared smiling softly towards her.

'I did a great job, right sensei?'

A man in his 60's slowly nodded at her with a soft smile painted on his lips. And with that, Hikari Ishigami, the Sun hashira took her last breath with a small smile on her face, leaving a sobbing Tanjiro, Inouske, Zenitsu, and Nezuko.

'Everything's fine now'
