lee know was about to hang up, feeling the incessant ringing taking a toll on his eardrums. his finger hovered above the " end call " button, before he heard someone pick up.
there was an awkward silence, and only the slightly laboured breathing of someone could be heard from the other line.

" hey. so i'll be writing letters to you right? "
lee know spoke, pacing around his room mindlessly. that mansion which he lived in,  was his home for decade upon decade, and a small world unto itself.the establishment attracted the attention of many members of the public and was the talk of the town before the excitement simmered away. inside the walls of the mansion, a vulnerable version of himself was protected by the concrete pillars.

living in a mansion without any company led him to feel extremely isolated. everything would come with a price to pay. his parents were frequently away, catching flights and calling back home once or twice. they were never present during his childhood. the only thing that would ever be the evidence of their presence was the materialistic possessions they purchased. often, ginormous packagings would be delivered to his doorstep. watches, gadgets and many more. however, it meant nothing to lee know.

they were just another painful reminder of their absence that is replaced with the faint memory associated with them.

a honey like voice was soon heard from the other line, making minho comically widen his eyes. he has never heard such a beautiful voice before! he was frequently bombarded with the unnecessarily high-pitched giggles the juniors would force out and more often than not, sick of the monotonous voices that erupt from his teachers' mouths.

" oh yes! i can't w-wait to talk to you. you can write whatever you l-like ~ "
the boy on the other line exclaimed, bubbling with excitement. although this voice was shaky and his sentences were interrupted with stutters, it was just like honey to lee know's ears. he couldn't help but wonder if the boy could sing him to sleep, but bit his lip down to stop such sudden thoughts to be conveyed through the phone.

jisung was just like lee know, a high schooler. he was a kind hearted person, the kind you worry about. there's a personality in this world that learnt that their role was to give to others and be generous at all times. it makes him wonderful and a blessing to all who are in his life, yet it is dangerous too. jisung was like a motor running constantly, hardly ever taking the time they need for maintenance and refuelling. as such they are prone to breakdowns after a time. he was always regarded as a  kind hearted person, but never knew that he needed his own kindness reflected back to them.

jisung hated the sight or even to hear about people being lonely, thus, he wanted to write letters to people who seemed like they needed a listening ear!

however, his kind intentions were not always reciprocated. rather, they backfired on him. the recipients of the letters would always start off as such wonderful people. always making sure to add exclamation marks at the end of every sentence i match jisung's excitement and even remembered to write about the subtlest things jisung told them.
all good things, indeed, did come to and end.

the once sweet words turned into horrifying monsters, filled with inappropriate comments and insults that gnawed away at jisung. it was far too much for someone like him to handle. nonetheless, he always tried to write back as nicely as possible, before they lost interest in him and stopped writing back.

no matter how inconsiderate they were, jisung undeniably felt saddened at the lost of people to talk to.

" oh okay

" oh okay. i'll start writing to you tomorrow. "
the older fought back a stutter, masking his excitement under a relaxed tone.

with that, the both of them ended the call, but never putting an end to the thoughts that surrounded around the both of them. whirlpool of voices intermingled with their senses and toyed around with their mind, truly messing them up in the head.

" I can't wait.. I can't wait for tomorrow "
for the first time, the both of them looked forward to tomorrow
