Chapter 6

The next day comes and I go to school with a moody face. I ask Tessa to ride with me to school in order to have some company because I know I will cry myself nearly to death if she doesn't. We alight from the car and I spot the son of a bitch immediately. He walks over to us and Tessa welcomes him with a slap

"Ouch,what was that for?" Joshua asks touching his cheek.

"Are you seriously asking me that?" Tessa angrily asks.

"Okay,fine,Liz, I'm sorry, I felt like I had to". Joshua replies facing me.

"You had to? I didn't force us to become friends". I scoff obviously hurt.

"I know that and I like you as a friend but you are different from other people. I didn't want to lie but I had to because I know he doesn't like you. I'm really sorry. What can I do to make it up to you?" He says and I feel my heart melt a little.

Well,get me a big bowl of ice cream to cool
off." I reply and run as I hear the bell ring.

Class goes on as usual and its time for lunch. I get scolded by Tessa as I enter the cafeteria.

"Dude,why did you play it cool with Josh like that after what he did to you." Tessa asks,concerned about me.

"Well,I like him so I think I've decided to
give him another chance." I answer shrugging my shoulders.

"I mean, he doesn't even like you like you,he just likes you as a friend." She says as a manner of factly way.

"I know that but hopefully,he'll like me as we get to know each other." I say full of hope.

"Okay, if you say so." She answers.

Later after school, I bump into Joshua while waiting for my mum to come pick
me up and damn he knows me so well because he's holding the biggest bowl of a vanilla flavored ice cream.

"Damn,Josh, how did you know its my
favorite?" I ask as soon as he gives me the bowl.

"I have my ways." He tells me confidently.

"Okay." A happy me says

We drink the ice cream together and I silently wish Tessa was here to dine with us. My mum comes few minutes later and I collect Josh's number before hopping into her car. The next day comes and I feel happy because I have forgiven Josh and we get to talk again. I get to school late just as class starts and greet Josh as soon as I rush in

"Hey Josh." I say as I drop my bag on the seat

"Hi Liz, how are you." He replies

"I'm good, can you come over to my house on Saturday?" I ask hoping for a positive response

"Okay, I will." He replies and I mentally fist bump myself

"Thanks." I say happily.

Our teacher who is always late finally enters into the class and we all settle down for the lesson. After class,Joshua and I converse in the hallway on the way to our next class. The conversation goes on well until we are interrupted by the head cheerleader Britney.

"Oh no, this can't be good." I say to myself

"Hey Josh,can I talk to you for a moment and may I ask what you are doing with this rat like fool?" Britney says

"Well,actually, she wanted me tutor her and I said no." Joshua drops the bomb.

"Okay I'm done." I say to myself
